Filtz Retakes Control :club: :ts :4h :5c :3h :qh Posted 3 minutes ago by Shamus • Level 30: 40,000-80,000, 10,000 anteAfter getting those chips back, Matt Jarvis has returned them in short order to Justin Filtz over the course of a just a couple of hands. In the first, the pair had already built a sizable pot by the turn when the board showed {Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Jarvis checked, Filtz bet 275,000, and Jarvis made the call. The river brought the {3-Clubs} and Jarvis checked once more. Acting more quickly than usual, Filtz bet 850,000 and after some deliberation Jarvis called. Filtz tabled {5-Spades}{3-Hearts} for a full house, and Jarvis mucked. On the next hand, Jarvis raised to 165,000 from the button and Filtz called. The pair checked the {Q-Spades}{A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop and {2-Spades} turn. The river was the {5-Spades}, and Filtz bet 250,000. Jarvis thought a second, then called. Filtz showed {K-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for king-high, and Jarvis sheepishly mucked his hand. "Wow, that's sick," he said. "I called you with jack-high."A bit of frustration, perhaps, from Jarvis, who is back down to 3.2 million. Filtz, meanwhile, is pushing 7.8 millionChip Counts Justin Filtz 6,700,000 -1,050,000 neg Matt Jarvis 4,250,000 1,050,000 pos]Updated Chip CountsPosted 1 minute ago by ShamusThere are 15 minutes left in this (necessarily) last level. Unless, of course, a winner is decided before we get there..

Heads-Up, Part 2Posted 11 minutes ago by ShamusWelcome back to Event No. 40, the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Short-Handed event. We're down to just two players, 2010 November Niner Matt Jarvis and Justin Filtz. When play resumes shortly, Jarvis will enjoy a better than 3.5-to-1 chip advantage over Filtz, which might suggest the possibility of a short Day 4. But if their epic, three-hour long heads-up battle last night proved anything, it is that these are two tough competitors neither of whom will likely be impatient to finish. The scheduled start time has been pushed to 2:45 p.m. local time -- about 10 minutes from now. Stay tuned for coverage of the conclusion of Event No. 40.

Justin Filtz Eliminated in 2nd Place ($499,855); Matt Jarvis Wins!Posted 5 minutes ago by Shamus • Level 31: 50,000-100,000, 10,000 anteOn the fifth hand of Day 4, Justin Filtz had the button. He checked his cards, and without too much deliberation announced he was all in for his last 2 million. Matt Jarvis immediately called.Filtz {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}Jarvis {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}Jarvis had the preflop advantage. Both players stood behind their chairs to await the delivery of the community cards."Ace!" cried the Jarvis supporters. The flop came {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. "Hold!" came the revised cheer. The turn was the {2-Spades}, and Filtz was down to one last chance for a saving king or nine to win, or a four to chop. The dealer burned and turned over the river -- {3-Diamonds}! A loud roar erupted from the stands, and Jarvis, fist in the air and a huge grin on his face, raced over to hug his supporters. He soon walked back over and shook Filtz' hand, with both agreeing it was a tough, memorable battle. It's over! After three long hours of heads-up last night, Day 4 concludes in less than five minutes with Justin Filtz taking second and Matt Jarvis winning his first WSOP bracelet!gg Justin , very nice try. nice cash hugs you are still a champ
