Well, I've been playing cards for a while now but I really focused on poker about 3 years. When I first started focusing on poker, I read all sorts of articles and books...Caro's Pro Poker TellsTheory of Poker Texas Hold EmTexas Hold Em for Advanced PlayersSuper Systemand recently I have read...Poker, the Real Dealand Positively Fifth Street.I watch pros on TV from time to time to.I would say 90% of my playing is online, and until recently it had been mostly freeroll if I was on the computer...Lately, I also started playing offline games on Poki Poker Academy Pro for extra training when I don't feel like waiting for hands to end.My problem is this, I seem to have stopped progressing. I can do well in tournaments, and I can do well in SNG's, and I don't really lose at round tables either...but I just don't feel like I'm getting any better.Last 1o tournaments I have played in I make it to the top 5-10%, usually in they bottom half of the payouts, and get knocked out.SNG's I will usually place in the money, but almost always 3rd out of 4 payouts. My biggest progression occurred after I read Texas Hold Em for Advanced Players about 18 months ago so I am now in the process of re-reading that. Does anyone have some advice to get me moving in the right direction again?
i've hit a wall...

well... since you have posted here instead of general. If you're going to play online, you need to be sure to have the right tools. Those tools being Pokertracker and Gametime + Not an advertisement, just an endorsement. It's really great stuff. After you've played about 10K hands, post your stats, and then it will be easier to see what some of your leaks might be.Otherwise, from your original posting it is essentially impossible to provide any additional guidance to you regarding how to improve your game.

Keep playing, and suddenly something in your mind will click, and you'll say "Ah, of course, I need to be doing that now".
Looks like i picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

If you found the Sklansky books helpful, go buy Tournament Poker for Advanced Players 8) I hear it's pretty good, though not as valuable as SSHE, TOP, and HEFAP

From what I've read, I think you might be playing a bit too tight. Like a prior poster said, some stats would be helpful, but if you're only making 3rd in your SNG's, it would seemlike you're pushing the right hands, but getting blinded outwhen the limits get higher. I found that when I started playinga couple more hands in the $10 and $20 SNG's my % for wins or top 2's went up.
