imo, it's pretty easy to criticize Obama by saying, "More debate should have happened," "we should study more," or think if that nature without having to actually take a stand. You'll notice that Paul never says whether we should have aided the NATO bombing or not, he simply made a bunch of wishy washy statements and somewhat generic remarks.
The President is the one whose decisions matter and he's the one who has to make the final call. If you're planning to run for President, at least take a stand on the situation and say what you would have done.

His record on foreign involvements is pretty clear: stay the hell out of countries that will hate us no matter what we do. Let rich countries buy their own defense instead of us subsidizing all the half-brained socialist governments throughout the world.

What the hell are you talking about? What attitude did he have in that video? It simple, succinct and pretty provided facts.
I have become a Rand Paul fan. I don't think he is the crazy person he was painted to be.

Hitler was not motivated by hate.
Gervais: What do you worry about, that you've heard on the news?
Pilkington: I heard something about worms getting teeth.

If you didn't notice, he and his dad are the only ones in the GOP criticizing Obama for going in too soon or without enough discussion. Everyone else in the GOP criticized Obama for "dithering" (Palin) or not being gung-ho enough or whatever.
This leads me to the obvious conclusion that neither will ever win the GOP nomination. So what the hell are you talking about exactly? I don't care if he made an impassioned plea with the gravitas of Abraham Lincoln. He won't win the GOP nomination with a "we should slow down" attitude towards US military involvement abroad when the rest of the GOP is about shooting first and sorting other stuff out later.
I actually agree with a lot of what Rand had to say which is the most concrete proof I can offer that the Pauls are not winning any GOP primaries for President.

As for what the GOP or DEMS have said about Lybia, I would have no idea. That is actually the first response I have seen.

You're busy, it's ok. Rand Paul basically made the same critique of Obama that Dennis Kucinich did. Strange times.

Tea party might be jumping the shark a little.

It is possible to be both.... to be disengaged to a fault, and then knee jerk in without proper preparation.
Libya is a total mess now and the Rebels are screaming for more help/weapons.
But continue to love this and stay in denial if you must, it's all good.

Reid may avoid vote in order to prevent from highlighting Obama"s obvious hypocrisy.

Perfect. There are Twitter and Facebook accounts called Candidate Obama that love to bring up all the old things Obama said.

Obama:
“The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”
They key word there, of course, is "unilaterally," and gives him plenty of wiggle room to escape hypocrisy in this situation. The UN resolution and the involvement of NATO make this pretty multilateral.

Is that really what he meant by unilaterally?

Let's turn to our resident political expert and analyst...dammit we need to get one of those.

The phrase "does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally" is fairly unambiguous, since UN and NATO are not in the Constitution. If he had left out the part about "under the Constitution", he'd have some wiggle room, but as quoted, no, there is none.
