you might be familiar with how we've done this in football http://www.fullconta...howtopic=144516actually probably notanyway it's gotta be different for Basketball because rounds are not done every week. series start when they're ready. So, here's how it works.1. There are four categories to pick:ScoringDefenseRebounding DifferentialPoint Differential2. Since a series is not always 7 games long, if your team wins the series, their BEST game in that category is carried forward (BOCF). if your team loses the series, their WORST game in that category is carried forward (WOCF). Obviously if the series goes for 7 games then there is nothing to be carried.p.s. I realize BOCF is usually reserved for Baseline Observation Carried Forward, nerd3. in each round your scores are compared to all other competitors4. as new rounds start, competitors must pick teams in new series. For the series, these results are compared to every one else's picks5. Here's a breakdown of how picks occur in each roundOpening Round: pick one team for each category. they must come from four different seriesSecond Round: pick one team for each category. they must come from four different seriesConference Finals: pick one team for each category. two must come from the Eastern Final. two must come from the Western FinalFinal: pick one team for each category.6. We can do picks however people want: PM to me; post in here; post in here with spoilers and the honour system!.Anyone interested?

p.s. here's some examples based on series according to current standings according to the NBA playoff simulator which had the grizzlies beat the spurs 5/6 timesA.Spurs vs GrizzliesLakers vs HornetsMavericks vs Trail BlazersThunder vs NuggetsBulls vs PacersCeltics vs KnicksHeat vs 76ersMagic vs HawksFirst Round I pick:Scoring - SpursDefense - CelticsRebounds Differential - MagicPoint Differential - BullsSpurs lose in 5 games to the Grizzlies because the playoff machine is trying to tell me something. They scored 101, 93, 92, 80, 84. Games 6 and 7 would then be WOCF and be 80 each for an average of 87.14Bulls win in 4 games by a margin of 12, 11, 3, 20. Games 5, 6, 7 = 20 by BOCF. Average differential is 15.14B.Scoring in each category is compared to everyone else's picks. Let's say we have 10 competitors. My 87.14 would be compared to everyone else's score. Let's say 2 other people picked the spurs but everyone else picked the Lakers who had an average of 101.4My score in this category for the round would be 0-7-2Let's say the Heat had a point differential of 17 on average and that two people picked them. One other person picked the Bulls. Everyone else picked other teams who did worse. My score in this category for the round would be 6-2-1

i'd like to be in as the random factor, same as the football one. whoever is around can generate a random number to do my pick. i completely trust runthemover to do this if he's the one who is around.
