$1/$2 FullTilt (8 handed)Preflop: econ_timUTG calls, 4 folds, Button calls, SB completes, econ_tim checks.Flop: (4 SB) [9d 7d 8h]SB checks, econ_tim calls.Turn: (3.5 BB) [5c]econ_tim calls, UTG calls.River: (6.5 BB) [3d]econ_tim calls, UTG calls.Final pot: 9.5 BBOK. So my river play looks strange. UTG is a pretty good play. Button likes to bet. I felt UTG had some kind of hand, but if I bet out on the River, he wouldn't call because it would be clear I had a flush. Button would probably call, or maybe raise. I was pretty sure Button would bet, but he might fold to a reraise. So I thought if I check/ called the river, UTG would be likely to call since I didn't show any strength and the pot would be bigger.Normally, I would just bet out this river, but I had been reading SSHE on river play, although I hadn't had much time to think it over. Let this post serve as a warning that reading SSHE without thinking about it can be harmful to your play. Now you can tell me how stupid I am.

This is a good one tim.first, change calls pre-flop to checks.i think your call on the flop is good. if i were in position id raise.and raise the river just call a 3bet

Not a bad idea, but I think you've got to raise the river. Going for an overcall allows for the possibility of a second river bet to add to your coffers, but checkraising all-but-guarantees it, and opens the door to a potential 3-bet scenario, or a cold-call from the overcalling player. I just think the line is weak if you don't guarantee yourself an extra bet on the river by raising.Ice

You should lead out that flop .and you should lead out, or check raise the river. betting out the river isnt a big deal, If they both fold to you, you win the pot without a showdown., and those hands are always nice.Even though u had the flush, yadda yadda,, its all about table image..boo ya 8)
