Swift_Psycho 1
I was impressed, and will definitely keep watching. The beginning is obviously reminiscent of 28 days later, which is probably bad because I think some of the details of 28 days later were better thought out. It's just the start of the show though, so I'll let them develop it more and see where it goes.
speedz99 145
I enjoyed it...I mean, there were a few issues here and there, but nothing's perfect.
ltrainkoja55 0
could someone explain the opening with the child that he shoots? was that dream or in the future? great first episode-- very entertaining
bigkg 0
could someone explain the opening with the child that he shoots? was that dream or in the future? great first episode-- very entertaining I think it was just intended to set the tone for the show. It certainly was not a dream and may be in the future, but I doubt it will be revisited.

It certainly was not a dream and may be in the future, but I doubt it will be revisited. appreciate it-- my a.d.d. is going up as my age increases. Thought I had missed something--I thought it was one of those things where they start off with a shocking scene, then start from the beginning, then revisit the first scene at the end of the episode...except they never did. I don't know what to make of it since they didn't; wouldn't be shocked if they revisit the scene later on, but I agree that it would be weird to do it in a later episode. But if they weren't going to revisit it at all, I really wish they wouldn't have included it.
hank213 1,824
Solid start. The opening scene would fit into the timeline shortly before he finds the horse. I felt bad for the horse.

speedz99 145
How unnecessary was the "his buddy is still banging his wife...from behind!" opening scene?
Swift_Psycho 1
How unnecessary was the "his buddy is still banging his wife...from behind!" opening scene?Yeah, was thinking the same thing.
hank213 1,824
How unnecessary was the "his buddy is still banging his wife...from behind!" opening scene?completely necessary. it's been a while.the significance of that one little motion helps define at least a part of her character's motivation for cheating on the sheriff. the sheriff is most likely the "straight forward, minimal foreplay, missionary only" type of guy. while his friend is the "jungle love, hair pulling, stick a hot pepper up her ass" type of guy and the latter makes her feel more desirable. speedz99 145
Yeah, I'll give you that, but it's still a non-sequitor coming as the cold open for the show when they don't even show up again for the remainder of the episode (I think, I was in and out a bit).

This opening scene didn't make much sense to me. Also, unless he comes back in a later episode, the racist character seemed unnecessary. I thoroughly enjoyed most of the episode though. Hopefully he takes the camp on an adventure within a few episodes. I'd rather not watch them set up a community.

Looks like they're going to add in a healthy dose of family and relationship drama, which I'm not that excited about. I just hope they move things along and let that play out in the background and don't spend too much actual tv time with it.

I mean, the adulterous duo basically tried to murder him by leaving him in the hospital surrounded by zombies, or that's how I'd see it if I was the sheriff. They have to add character driven material and address back story or the show becomes a video game of "run, hide, kill" every week and the only reason to tune in would be to see what new and interesting weapons they'll use to get the job done. How are you going to drag along a comatose guy when you're running from hordes of zombies? Anyway, I'm sure they'll say they heard that everyone in the hospital was dead, which would be a pretty reasonable thing to hear based on what he saw when he woke up.*maybeThey have to add character driven material and address back story or the show becomes a video game of "run, hide, kill" every week and the only reason to tune in would be to see what new and interesting weapons they'll use to get the job done.Yeah, it's just that the love triangle thing is a really obvious way to go. So was the racist hick thing. But whatever, I like the show, I'm just being picky. It's more fun to pick the show apart then to just talk about how cool it was when [character] killed [zombie] with [weapon].

Fluffdog87 2
The 1st episode was awesome! 2nd episode veered in some directions I didn't think they'd go. Also there is a we are trapped we need to get away from the zombie scene in every movie and I didn't find that part to entertaining. I hope they find a good mix of story and zombie related issues and it could be a cool show.
