I think the black mom works fine on this show. Yes, on basically any other show ever it would be bizarre and distracting to the point of real annoyance to have a biological mother be black and her kids be pale white and blond, but Louie isn't any other show. It's already quite surreal so it doesn't bother me, and instead it even adds to the level of surrealism and the sort of quiet oddness that runs through almost every episode.

I liked the season finale, not as much as the second 2 Letterman episodes (David Lynch was extraordinary, as was the writing), but a good amount. The ending in China was awesome, and there was some good ol' fashioned silly comedy at the beginning. I thought the funniest part was when he started melting crayons to get the exact color of the doll's face.
Karl: She was a bit -- what's the word that you can use, cuz I don't wanna offend anyone?
Steve: Was she a homeless person?
Karl: Yeah but sort of mental homeless.

I haven't laughed that much at a TV show, as I did when he was dealing with that doll, in a long time.

I'm halfway through season 2 of this show on Netflix, and I'm already getting separation anxiety for when I run out of episodes to watch. So good. Louis C.K. is the best.

Netflix has 3 seasons so you should be good for a little longer.

Just be thankful you had these episodes to watch now. Anyone like me who has watched roughly around the original air dates hasn't seen a new episode since Sept. 2012. Thankfully it's back again this year I believe.

Maybe this was mentioned in another thread but to get a little bit of your Louis CK fix you can watch one of the best Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee episodes.

yep it's a good one that just came out a week or 2 ago. It was the opener of the 2nd season. It's going to be tough for anyone to top the Larry David episode but this is up there for sure. Larry and Jerry just have amazing comedic chemistry.

I think Louie said he felt that he needed a break for the good of the show. He could have continued but the show quality would have suffered. FXX has given him full reign of the show and he seems to use every bit of it.

Louis CK is bringing a new pilot to FX, with Zach Galifafknadsuyas.

For those that missed it, Louis hosted SNL this weekend. The show itself was okay, but his monologue was top notch. My favorite is the Christopher Walken "Invisible Bird" one, but this Louis' is right up there with it.

I saw part of it. That "Black Jeopardy" sketch was disgusting. The KKK has infiltrated their writer's room.

Because it marginalizes urban men and women and their eccentric culture as something that can be laughed at.
