I get delt Q
Q
in the small blind in the Negreanu Open. Blinds are at 25/50 and I had 1800 in front of me. Three early players limp in and it's folded around to me. I raise it to 300, and one of the early position players reraises another 300. I just call. The flop comes down beautiful: 2
6
8
I have an over-pair with a backdoor flush draw. I still have about 1200 in front of me on the flop so I bet 500 over to my opponent, he raises putting me all in. What to do?

What to do?I'm a little fuzzy as to why you're betting into this flop so hard, but ok.Lay it down. You still have plenty of chips. QQ unimproved isn't great here considering the PF action.

I think I would've tried to stay around a bit too.... that's a tough one though.I ran into something similar.... someone was playing pretty fast at the table and I had pocket Kings, my first actual hand of the night [after about 50 hands]. So I raise 5xBB I think and I get one caller. Flop comes all rags, I bet out and my opponent raises me 2x.... I think for a moment and look at his stack, worse case I put him all-in and i'm still in the tournie, allbeit very short stacked. I consider the options and put him all in. He turns over pocket sixes.... he ends up with quads. Great hand for him, I can't faul his play at all. I wish it hadn't been my first hand all night because I overplayed it....I was able to last another 30 hands or so with my super short stack, but I decided to go all-in on a dare from the chip leader at the time. I was sure I'd get a caller, and I did, but I failed to pair my QT and lost to a pair of fours. Quit enjoyable despite cold cards and a horrible play I made.... but hey, live and learn right?

After I busted out against the guys AA, I thought back on how I played the hand...I should have check-folded on the flop. If I would have called I would have been drawn in by the flush draw, I knew I was beat; THE WHOLE TIME! I knew in my gut he had my Queens beat.

I think I probobly would have put him on A-8 or something and called... just my opinion though.

Funny you all mention the Hilton sisters...Last night, playing a single table NL SnG on Stars, I get dealt QQ in the SB on the 3rd hand of the tourney (little did I know that this would be the best hand I would be dealt all night). No read on players, nothing. We get two limpers and a guy in late position goes all-in. I do the only thing that a tight-aggressive player can do.I laid them down. And felt sick about it.Everybody else folded, so we'll never know.I busted out on the bubble--to the guy I laid down the queens to (and he was reasonably tight).Worst. Feeling. Ever.
Don't hate the player or the game--the one who called the bet was YOU.

Fold. He's got KK or AA.
