Sushiman 0
You have AK and raise it 4x the BB. Get 1 caller. Flop comes all rags rainbow. The pot is maybe 1-2 dollars and the other guy acts first by betting $5 into this pot. I fold because I have no piece of the flop. What's going on? Did these guys play crap against me and are now protecting thier low pair? Do they have overpairs in the hole? I see this happening a lot so I am leaking a good amount of money this way and it is frustrating.

Sushiman 0
Yea I didn't really think this was specific enough to be posted as strategy. I put this in general but I guess it got moved.
Guest
Yea I didn't really think this was specific enough to be posted as strategy. I put this in general but I guess it got moved.Well, that is difficult to tell without knowing what kind of player you are up against. If he is betting that hard here are the two most common reasons. Of course trying to answer this with such little info is very hard so I am really generalizing here...1 - He knows the flop sucks for anyone in and is trying to buy a small pot.2 - He thinks his hand (probably what most strategy guides would consider somewhere between tier 2 and 4) will now hold up and he is trying to get you to play back at him because you think situation 1 is happening. These are just poorly educated guesses without more knowledge of the game you were in, sorry I couldn't get more specific with you here...
