30 Minutes? Is it like half an episode or something or is it a hype clip "making of" type of thing?

Didn't really say. the preview from my digital cable box says: "A look at ESPN's dramatic series exploring the world of high-stakes gambling through a Las Vegas poker event"

I hope nobody did that - they would have missed the only part of the Orange Bowl that was close. I think Oklahoma's a bit short-stacked. Wow.

hahah yeh, you can say that. alot of excitement in the game though.as for the TILT preview it was a bit humorous and unfortunately exactly what I expected.... every key poker term being thrown out every two minutes.... i mean who the hell talks like that in the poker community?

Yea it didn't look good to me either, but Daniel makes a cameo in it so it can't be that bad, right? He did a hell of an acting job, too! LOL!

Yeah, does Cloutier get to say even one word? lolI wonder if the whole series takes place in the week beforse the WSOP or they make it over a year in the characters lives. Seems like there's nothing to do after they take down El Matador lol. El matador...

Saw it, but I don't know how real it is. They suggest that there's CHEATING in poker, in VEGAS.I think any OU fan would want to forget that whole game.

I was a little disappointed in the actors. None of them knew anything about poker before the show. I would at least like to have seen some actors that knew about the game. And yes, there were a lot of poker terms thrown out there right away. I admit though, I'll probably end up watching it.

I'll be watching it too, but the terminology is gonna get on my nerves. Here is the first paragraph of the first episode of TILT I am guessing:SomeGuy: "Another bad beat! This is insane! The calling station didn't even have the pot odds to call me down with the inside straight draw that he had. Unbelievable. Lucky suck out you fish! I had wired aces, pocket rockets, bullets and flop a set and you get lucky with a four outer on the river."Arg.... if it's like that I'll be a little ashamed to watch it. But I will watch it nonetheless because it's poker.I really hope they do a good job and don't make poker look negative.

Sheesh, I haven't seen this Tilt show yet, but it sounds like they already used all the poker jargon that is in the known (and maybe unknown) universe already. Gonna get old fast??? Bleh, I'll end up watching it anyways... But it can't beat Cheers re-runs on TV land... lol.

I hope the show inspires people to play poker. My fear however, is that it will inspire people to cheat. I hope they don't glamorize the cheating aspect. That would tic me off.

"Did you even look at your cards?" "I didn't have to I saw you look at yours!" It did sound a bit cheesy from the promo but like most I will be watching next week. I wonder how many "Matador" fans will be at the WSOP this year?

I agree with you 100%That and I hope people don't start bringing fighting into the card room like the preview suggests.... This really could hurt poker, but hopefully it won't.

It was only due time before something like this came out due to the popularity of poker right now. The show may have its dissapointments, but don't most of you praise Rounders as a great poker movie? None of the actors knew how to play before that either. Same writers and they did have a lot fo imput from pros as well as the forementioned cameos. I'm going to guess that there will be some parts that are unrealistic and others that are dead on. Some of the situations such as cheating or fist fights are things that actually happen. Its like the thought of home games getting robbed - I would have told that wouldn't happen in a million years here in Austin in low limit games, but low and behold, we've had two get robbed at gunpoint in the last couple of months. I'll give it a chance and give my opinions afterwards. As for the overuse of terminology...it'll probably be along the same amount of overuse as you see on poker forums. Just my $.02

Valid points, but the overuse of terms in the forum aren't for ego or bravado purposes. It's just overkill when you see it on TV.
