Day 1, Lind & Wells have already homered. Good start for Wells. Hopefully he rebounds after a bad year. Maybe he'll earn his ridiculous contract this year.Marcum 4 ip, 0 hits. JinxI'm just hoping that their young guys play good and they can get good contributions from Overbay and A-Gon. If the bottom of the order can't produce, they will be in big trouble. The rotation, well, it's a huge question mark this year.

Awesome start. I'm expecting a trend to start.

Chalk one up to Cito messed up the game column. He consistently leaves his pitchers in too long...Its opening day, your starter hasnt pitched 7 innings in spring training. You have a bullpen full of young arms..After the first hit, he needs to pull Marcum..

Well, he's going to have to deal with this a lot more this year with Halladay gone. His bullpen will probably see about and extra 50 innings of work now.

Hopefully Vernon Wells can keep up his 200+ HR pace. Maybe they'll have a shot

I do. Every time I see a picture of him, I can't figure out who it is. Funny that I think of a guy named Gonzalez as a caucasian guy.

I don't think I have ever seen someone suck as much as Lyle Overbay has sucked this year.

Off to Tampa for a 3 game set...Hope we can take 2 out of 3 over there....We play the Rays and the Yanks play the Orioles...I think the Orioles should get relegated to AAA

Jays trade Alex Gonzalez, Tim Collins and someone else for JoJo Reyes and Yunel Escobar. Not sure if I love the trade or hate it. I hate that we had to give up Collins. For anyone not in the know, Collins is a lefty who has put up absolutely awesome numbers at (I think) AA this year. He's also about 5'5", so no one has ever given him a chance at doing anything. Still, AA is usually the separator, and he has shown a little of people something this year.Gonzalez is a free agent next year. His value is very high right now. Before this year, getting Escobar for him would've been an absolute steal, so I'm glad to get value there.Escobar and Reyes are both arbitration-eligible for the next few years, so this deal was great cost-wise. I wish we could've left Reyes and Collins out of the deal altogether. This might also show the Jays are realistic about Hechavarria. Some reports had him starting in 2011. Maybe he still will and Escobar will move since defensively he is probably ready. His bat still needs a couple years of work though.

So...turns out Gonzalez does have a club option at $2.5M for 2011...pretty decent.Collins is actually listed (generously!) at 5'7...and 155 pounds. averaging almost 15K/9 this year.
Long signatures are really annoying.
