Anyone ever played a H.O.R.S.E. tournament?

I'm thinking of playing one, but I'll be honest and say my hi-only Stud game is pretty horrible. Was wondering if anyone's played in one and how they approached it. Focus on exploiting small edges in your stronger games? Avoid big pots in the split games?

Yes! And it was awesome! I loved it.Basically I try to play well at all forms of poker, but obviously I have my weaknesses. I try to just play solid in all games and if you do, you will find that you end up on a large stack as opposed to just trying to play well in one or two formats.

I'm still sticking to NLHE and the occasional Omaha hi home game. Could somebody lay out the games and structure of the H.O.R.S.E tournament, just to educate me? Thanks!

It is really important to win some pots in the stud games, as your chips go down much faster in those because of the antes. I also tend to go for low hands in high-low splits, half a pot is better than no pot and many people seem to ignore the low half completely.

the only h.o.r.s.e. game i played in was so poorly structured that it turned into a crapshoot. the first 3 limits were fun though! i.e. 15 minit limits with starting blinds at 50-100 with 1500 in chips i believe. pretty crappy.
SAM: what are you up to norm?
NORM: my ideal weight if i were 11 feet tall.

H.O.R.S.E is an acronym for a poker game in which the game you are playing rotates around. Iam not sure if it changes every hand, or every 10 minutes (or whatever). Also, Iam curious to know how the blind/ante structure works in a HORSE tourney.H- HoldemO- Omaha HiR- RazzS- Stud HiE- Eight or Better Stud (High/low split)

I played in a H.O.R.S.E. (structure-Holdem, Omaha, Razz, Stud, and Omaha Eight or Better) tournament and it was interesting. The game variation can be very tricky to adjust from game to game but I found it fun.

The best is when someone doesn't realize that you're playing razz and they call you down with three of a kind

If y'all just want to have a go at H.O.R.S.E. with no risk, Pokerpages have a playmoney tourney everyday.
Gotta Go
