FCP Bob 1,323
The NBC Heads Up Championship is about to begin in Las Vegas and Daniel is going to need some good fortune as he's drawn the tough Jason Mercier in the first round. In fact in Daniel's predictions he went with Jason over himself and he's predicting that Brock Parker will win it all. Daniel knows first hand how tough Parker can be heads up as Daniel finished second to him at the WSOP this year in a limit holdem event. Here's the link to Daniel's Blog preditions which he did with fun in mind.http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-jour...&ucat=&There's also a prediction thread here in the forum.http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...howtopic=141322Poker News will be providing updates.http://www.pokernews.com/live-reporting/20...p/championship/Here's a link to a graphic of the brackets.http://www.pokernews.com/files_en/cnt/4b91345129ba8.pngGood Luck today Daniel.ClubsPatrik Antonius vs. Chris MoneymakerLeo Wolpert vs. Eric BaldwinDavid Williams vs. Joe CadaErik Seidel vs. Huck SeedDan Ramirez (online qualifier) vs. Erick LindgrenPeter Eastgate vs. Bertrand “ElkY” GrospellierStephen Quinn (online qualifier) vs. Ted ForrestDario Minieri vs. Jamie GoldSpadesGavin Smith vs. Phil IveyRichard Edwards (Caesars qualifier) vs. Scotty NguyenShawn Rice (Caesars qualifier) vs. Joe HachemGabe Kaplan vs. Johnny ChanDaniel Negreanu vs. Jason MercierPieter de Korver vs. Mike SextonPhil Gordon vs. Tom DwanPhil Laak vs. John JuandaHeartsJesper Hougaard vs. Allen CunninghamEli Elezra vs. Greg MuellerAnnette Dworski (online qualifier) vs. Chris FergusonKara Scott vs. Dennis PhillipsBrock Parker vs. Doyle BrunsonJP Kelly vs. Don CheadleHoward Lederer vs. Phil HellmuthAnnette Obrestad vs. Orel HershiserDiamondsBarry Greenstein vs. Vanessa RoussoSam Farha vs. Antonio EsfandiariJennifer Harman vs. Jennifer TillyJerry Yang vs. Mike MatusowDarvin Moon vs. Bill Huntress (online qualifier)Andy Bloch vs. Annie DukeAndrew Wilson vs. Paul WasickaGus Hansen vs. Greg Raymer

gatortom64 1
2 hours ago | Posted by jakatkin Mercier is moving onNegreanu NegatedThe theme of the day at the feature table seems to be play your hands fast and bust your opponent early. In the Spades bracket, Jason Mercier knocked Daniel Negreanu out in near record time after Negreanu pushed on a board of J 3 3 2 .Negreanu showed 5x5x for two pair, but Mercier’s QxQx gave him the stronger hand. The 9 on the river provided no help for Negreanu who’s 2010 National Heads Up Championship came to a quick end.

FCP Bob 1,323
Day 1 is History64 players took the stage at the sixth-annual NBC National Heads-Up Championship here at Caesars Palace, but only 32 will return to play again tomorrow. It was a generally subdued day here in the tournament room, with very few players chatting at the tables, let alone expressing any real emotion when they won or lost. Then again, there weren't all that many dramatic bust-out hands, aside from Annie Duke's come-from-behind catch to make trip 10s on the river after being out-flopped by Andy Bloch's ace-king.While most of the day's matches could have easily gone either way, there were a few upsets, including online qualifier Stephen Quinn's victory over past champion Ted Forrest and Phil Gordon's surprising win against Tom "Durrrr" Dwan. Other unexpected players in tomorrow's field include Jerry Yang who beat Mike Matusow and Chris Moneymaker who defeated Patrik Antonius. The full list of tomorrow's Round of 32 match-ups is below: Clubs Chris Moneymaker v. Leo WolpertDavid Williams v. Erik SeidelErick Lindgren v. Peter EastgateStephen Quinn v. Jamie Gold Diamonds Barry Greenstein v. Sam FarhaJennifer Harman v. Jerry YangDarvin Moon v. Annie DukePaul Wasicka v. Gus Hansen Spades Phil Ivey v. Scotty NguyenJoe Hachem v. serge 904
Annie Duke takes a lot of heat, especially from FCP Daniel fans..But you need to give the woman some credit..Winning the NBC heads up isnt a fluke..You need to be a player to get through all the heats..yes she might have got lucky in the end, but lets give this woman some credit..JOAN RIVERS, how many heads up tourney's have you won??Great job Annie..
