Stop being results oriented! That could seriously be the biggest set back in anybody's attempt to get better at poker. Before you have a question about a hand ask: Would I really wonder this if I won the flip? Or did I play it right and villain just hit a 3 outter on me? If you answer yes to these questions, then you will find that a lot of hands that you found "questionable" or "risky" prolly are no where close to that.I'm all for talking hands, I love to discuss hands that are interesting to talk about. I think a lot of you newer posters should read some articles online. Read bond18's articles. I'm not asking the newer posters to quit posting hands, but I would hope that you guys will start realizing actual strategy and talk about hands more in depth than, "yeh...this is 10000% a call" or stuff like that

I'm not sure if calling here is the best play because of villain's stack and because if I fold im still in first place .
You know it's probably not all that clear cut given tournament situation, he is just never light here. I still think AK is a call. AQ is mirky in this spot. Don't beat up on yourself for losing a flip. 48k stack going into the money is enormous in a 12 180.

i totally agree, we are like never folding AK here, sucks but dont lose sight that you were 50% to have a monster stack going into the money, you win this hand you gte to easily grind for 2 or maybe even 3 levels, that is gold bc we can pick off short stacks then

I don't think a fold is bad in this spot. But that's me. Others may disagree. That being said I wouldn't agonize over it. I think a call here is not terrible. You're going for the win and only two hands put you in jail. You lost a flip. It happens to the best of us.What you should focus on is the positive. You were chip leader with 20 to go! Nice job! Don't worry the cabbage will come your way.

i just hate having to donk around to figure out an M, makes things so much cleaner, plus chris vitch is a cool dude, dont mind visiting his site so he gets more hits. and yes i know i could go straight to thehandconverter.com, but then i wouldn't be helping chris, now would i?

Oh I'm a big deathdonkey fan as well. His videos on Deucescracked my personal favourites for Limit Hold Em.To support other forum members you could also use http://www.feralcowpoker.com/converter.php which was made by FCPers vbnautilus and qyayqi
it doesnt calculate an M thou, i dont mind it but that is the best thing the dc hand converter does, but ill give it a try. oh and for the record, it does look better then dc.

We can put an option for M. We did an informal poll and most people didn't want it, so we left it out. But we should have it as an option.

Try not to confuse first with dominating. First place with an M of 50 is a much more comfortable place to be than first with an M of 10.Given the stack sizes, first place just doesn't mean as much as M. Put simply, you were going to need to gamble to win.Your choices in these spots are gamble for the win, or fold into the money. All you can do in these spots is put your opponent on a range, determine how well your hand does against that range, and pick the action that you profit the most from in the long run. If JJ was part of the range you put him on, you shouldn't be surprised to see it flipped over.

The problem is most of his range are pocket pairs and maybe AQ. Now, can i get a better spot than a 50-50 for that amount of chips? I don't really know...there are a lot of short stacks so I don't think I can't steal 2 much but I have a good stack to wait for a better spot.
