Need some help with NL SNG tournament play.I've been playing on-line for about 4 months, my game is improving (by reading lots of strategy posts, analyzing my game, etc.)Playing micro stakes games (.25/.50 limit, $2-$5 SNG NL tournaments as well as a few $2-$5 MTTs).Here is an example hand (from memory, and sorry, no hand histories)Early/middle stage of the tournament, I am 5th in chips with 1300, chip leader has 2400, 7 people still in.Blinds are 25/50.Chip leader is SB.Table is playing very loose.I'm UTG with J
J
I bet 150.1 fold, MP calls, 2 folds, SB calls, BB folds.Pot has 475Flop is 3
7
10
SB checks, I bet 400, MP folds, SB calls.Turn is K
SB checks, I bet 200, SB calls. I bet 200 here fearing a check-raise.River is 6
SB checks, I check.I'm really not sure how I should have played this. These are the kind of hands that I think I need to play better.Any help/comments/criticism welcome!I'll post results after some comments. Thanks

Your preflop raise was good.,i would have bet the flop, but not that much, unless you wanted everyone out, then would have bet 500 min. But without knowing the other players yet.The fact that you got 2 callers, tells you something. Once that flop hit, i would have bet 50 - 100, see where i'm at in the hand.the 400 flop bet, followed by a 200 turn bet screams weakness., that king was a crappy card, cuz anyone could be playing ace king, hoping to hit.I'll assume u were beat, and probably should have laid out two smaller sized bets on the flop and turn.,

It's all fine until the turn. Your weak turn bet screams that you can't beat a pair of kings, and a tricky opponent would push over the top of you there.Considering the pot size and your stack sizes, you should either push that turn or check it. I'd be inclined to push it, since most hands with a king in them would have folded to your flop bet.Checking the river after your weak turn bet might be best, since you're probably only getting called with hands that passed you with that six.

My flop bet was trying to get everyone out.The chip leader had been playing Ax and Kx all game, and even called at the river with that with no pair(s). I was hoping to take the pot there.I know the turn bet was weak, and showed everyone that I couldn't beat a pair of K's. Thought about pushing all in there, just didn't have the guts to bust out if he had a K.With the weak bet on the turn, didn't see much choice at the river except to check it.He turned over K

QUOTE("XXEddie....im guess it was multiple hands like these that made him the chip leader[/quote)
You would be correct. Playing that way made me play way too weak after the K came on board. Wasn't sure whether he had A or K, so I backed off.Given the chip counts and that I had already over half my chips in the pot, I probably should have pushed harder after the flop or at least on the turn and taken my chances. Would have lost, but at least I would have gone down fighting![/quote]
