Yes, i'm much tighter when SSing. A VP of around 8 to 10, raising a lot and getting it in by the turn. Been running almost as bad as i possibly could in the past 10k hands or so.

nothing fancy, just looking at avg post size or % players to the flop. play 2-3 orbits and see what transpires. if there are loose passives or aggrotards to my right then it's a lock. if someone's 3betting me a lot and cutting into my profit I just get up. if I can't tell I stay for a couple of more orbits; too many rocks, later. last night and today I played w/so many huge fish that I cannot believe I'm settling on tables w/4-5 regs. again, I know these guys are exploitable, but having an edge isn't enough; we should try to find the biggest edges possible.nashtak, I deposit using eChecks and they work fantastic. at least they did like 8 months ago when I last put money online.

Good post!I sit down at tables which have stacks less than 100bb and not using auto-reload, and then I do what you do...play 2-3 orbits and either stay or leave...

Then you whip out your cock and sharpen that instead and yell, "Ha ha, bitches, you never saw that coming!" Well, no, they didn't. But you still have a dull pencil and bleeding dick.

so I'm starting to game select and it makes poker so much easier. I read some post by aejones on 2+2 a few months ago that was like, "Don't be afraid to face your limit's best players. Sit down at any table irrespective of the regulars in order to improve. Don't be like leatherass and BUMHUNT." And it's like wtf why was I ever listening to that? What a stupid crock of shit, play at whatever table has the most fish to build the roll quickly.
Yeah, there are very few exceptions to this. I'm actually at one right now, where I find grinding hands/tables and getting as much knowledge and skills is more important to me than the best winrate. But I'm in a fairly unique situation.

nh tystero... though I'd still 3-bet/fold pre if that was my note. Also, if a tight stationy player overshoves the river, you pretty much can't call w/o the nuts or second nuts... i'd bet my bankroll that was AK or AQ spades.

I'm 18, just finished school and taking this year off between school and uni. My monthly expenses are tiny and so money isn't really an issue for me right now. However if I can really grind and get good at poker I can set myself up much better in the future when games aren't as good and my skill/understanding of the game outstrips that of the standard ssnl/msnl bumhunter.

TBH I think they're at the low point right now. With casinos opening up with poker around the states in response to the budgeting crisis it's only going to draw a larger and larger player pool while breaking down more legal barriers.

I agree w/ninja...I think there's going to be a poker renaissance in the (relatively) near future. America's verged to repeal the UIGEA, and if that happens, then the market's going to open up. Even though the US is still one of the largest poker markets in the world, it can only get better. And Asia still has yet to flood the poker world....Ruined a + session...1 1/2 hour of work down the drain, thanks FUll Tilt, sorry I ever recommended you to anyoneFull Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.comUTG ($7.11)MP ($10.95)CO ($15.34)Hero (Button) ($10)SB ($10.95)BB ($21.33)Preflop: Hero is Button with K :club:, A :D2 folds, CO bets $0.20, Hero raises to $0.80, 2 folds, CO calls $0.60Flop: ($1.75) A :jh, 3 :ts, 5 :5c (2 players)CO bets $0.50, Hero raises to $2, CO raises to $14.54 (All-In), Hero calls $7.20 (All-In)Turn: ($20.15) J :D (2 players, 2 all-in)River: ($20.15) 3 :3h (2 players, 2 all-in)Total pot: $20.15 | Rake: $1.34Results:Hero had K :4h, A :D (two pair, Aces and threes).CO had J :D, A :qh (two pair, Aces and Jacks).Outcome: CO won $18.81
