I can't tell if this is a serious post or a level bc of a simple two word phrase.
It actually is a serious post. I wasn't necessarily advocating that we have to do it...just suggesting that we have it in our bag of tricks. :)Also, I agree with what babylon said. And, trystero, his hand technically wasn't quite face-up since you put him on a weaker range than he had. (I still think he should've 3-bet.)

I don't play cash games at all and am pretty new to poker. With that said, why would we not 3-bet JJ preflop here? I'm not trying to criticize just wondering why we wouldn't and if we should be 3-betting here. Also, thunderstorms were around my area so I quit playing till they passed for fear of power outage. Of course, the power never goes out and it lasted a couple hours so I didn't get in anymore sngs tonight, but had I kept playing and been crushing it goes out for sure. :club:

Good valid question. My reasoning was because of the BB. The SB was a super nit running 9/7 over 88 hands, so he was folding to all raises unless he has a big hand in which case my JJ are no good. The BB, now there was the real fish that I wanted. He was the perfect station that would call any bets post with any pair on the board(or pocket pair that is lower than the board). So because I was on the btn and I feel I have been playing really well of late. I was positive I could beat both of these players in the pot. And if an A/Q/K came out I am sure I can lay down my J's if I get any pressure. Now if I was any other position, then yes deppending on who initial raiser was I will 3bet it all day long. If the nit was the raiser, I would flat and evaluate the flop. If it was the fish that raised, then yes I would instant 3bet him. if it was a normal 20/18, again i would 3bet him as well.Kosin Trouble

You should never really want to play a multi way pot with JJ, at least not at 5NL.Also, if the BB is as much a fish as you say, then you should be trying to isolate him and at the same getting more money into the pot.just my 2 pennies

Thanks for the feedback super john. I was under the impression that playing a 3 way pot with JJ isnt that bad of an idea if you know the one person is basically playing any 2 cards. I have seen the fish only play single raised pot and have never seen him play a 3bet pot, so I thought if I 3 bet he is just going to fold. Sorry thats not true, the only time I remember him calling a 3bet is when he was the origional raiser. So by me 3betting, would I not be isolating the villian in this case and not the fish?Is there any hands that you would just flat and hope to get the fish to come along instead of 3bet?I defenitly understand what you are saying about getting more money in the pot. Thanks again for the feedback, its always appriciated.Kosin Trouble

Went with a chicken burrito bowl for lunch today; black beans, green and corn salsas, sour cream cheese and lettuce... quite deliciousAlso, it balances my chipotle ordering range as I was way too weighted toward just chicken burritos.I need to add more quac to my order to truly balance and try more steak or pork burritos
