Can't Think Of A Word

OK basically I can't think of this word and it's really annoying the **** outta me.

It's a close enough synonym of laborious and meticulous I think.

The topic of conversation it arose in was when I was trying to describe Microeconomics. I was trying to say that although it is easy enough, it's ___________. Basically, was trying to say it's easy enough to do and understand, but is time consuming.
