yeah...so got a prescrip from my dentist for some valium

i have an extremely high threshold of pain..i can to a docs office or a surgury and have anything done and it will not bother me before or after...but with osteopenia plus the 23 meds im on i have very soft teeth...so to the dentist much i must go.

working with my mouth i am very sensitive!...very..i usually require some valium and at least 3 nov shots beforehand...

get from CVS...pay a small copay..13..not considering the drug...get my bags (also got some flouride toothpaste refill) and theres 10 pills...10...Prescrip said #12..bottle said #12.

i said excuse me but please count these..."ten" she said..i said now look at the bottle..."twleve" she said...

yes...ty...so why are there only ten? "i dunno" she so eloquently put it.... "maybe you grabbed two already" she added!

wow! now i was pissed! "well maybe one of your elite pharmaceutical staff obliged themselves to 2 of my pills!"

"obliged?" she asked....i was laughing now!

"it means they took them dipshit!" (i was also pretty mad)

she vows to call the police on me...and her seniors were agreeing...wtf am i gonna do at that point? so i push over a huge stack of Band-Aids and i left...formal complaint to CVS Corporate is registered.

wtf?

Tomorrow I will pop one for you my brother.

I have a friend who is a pharmacist at CVS and he says he hates it. Says despite its success, its a poorly run company that treats its employees and customers like poop.

She vows to call the police makes it sound so foreboding.
Don't you guys think that the puncher probably just mistook Snookers for a mean little goblin? You call the police and the FDA and register an anonymous tip that someone in the pharmacy at CVS store #XXX is dealing prescription drugs on the side. That ought to get the police so far up their asses they'll be coughing up badges.

I opened this thread expecting to read about CVs (as in curriculum vitae).

I'm sorry to hear about the poor service. When she threatened to call the police, I would have responded with, "Please do, in fact, let me call them for you so that I can report a theft."

It is so likely that someone skimmed 2 pills off of your prescription to sell on the black market. I think the best move would have been getting the police involved, but alas, that obviously takes up so much time and hassle that they know most people will shirk away when the pharmacy staff threatens to call the police.

You should have called their bluff, asked to use their phone for an important call, and called the police.

And, while you were dialing, after calling their bluff, you should have said, "I'm all in!"

Best part is, it's probably 100% true, too. If pain pills go missing from a prescription, someone almost certainly is dealing (what a sweet set-up for a pharm tech in an evil corporate chain). It's so clever it's almost a shame to bust them, but they wronged our Chrozzo!!!

I just happened to mention this thread to my husband while he was ranting about poor pharmacy service where we are.

Our example of poor service:

Him: I need to pick up a refill of this antibiotic.
Pharm Tech: We're out of that.
Him: It's an antibiotic -- taking an incomplete course would render it ineffective. It really shouldn't be interrupted, and my wife is out.
Pharm Tech, grudgingly, as if she were doing him the biggest favor in the world: Oh, well, I'll go look.

He didn't say (but should have), "You mean you were about to send me away empty-handed, on a drug that shouldn't be interrupted, because you were too damn lazy to walk ten feet and do your job?

Anyway, he used to work in the medical field, and he strongly endorsed my suggestion of calling the cops and reporting them for dealing and/or using. He said this is what would happen: a total shutdown of the pharmacy, a full audit of every pill in the place and every prescription filled for at least the last six months, and potentially FDA involvement.

Admittedly, we're always too lazy and easygoing to carry out the vengeance most lousy customer service deserves, so I'll understand if you're the same. But easily 95-99% of people just grab the bag and walk out the door. They'll probably never even know if they've been shorted pain meds. If they do notice, they'll probably assume they filled it on a different date than they think they did or, at worst, that somebody miscounted. That means that a tech who's dealing could make a shitload of money with virtually no chance of being caught.

I think I'm talking myself into a new career path.
