We need to promote this game to get the numbers up, for the amount of members we have we should be getting better #'s for our games. A few suggestions1. Daniel to play once a quarter would be nice, he hasn't played in about a year2. Standings to be updated weekly, no excuse not to have it not done, it's only one game a week.3. Put the game schedule and time on the Main page of the web site.4. Do more promoting for the game to our members maybe not in prizes but getting the info out, a quarterly newsletter or something. Just a thought.

Ill come clean and admit it was me who complained to Rose. She told me about this site about 3-4 weeks into the 4th quarter. I played and enjoyed the competition greatly. when I found where the points were, which wasnt easy to find btw, I found that I was close in the points to making the cut, even though I missed about 4 weeks of games. at the end, points were not posted and missing for up to 4 weeks..I asked one week ahead of last game if points could be posted to know where I was. I know someone stated they would, then something came up and it wasnt posted before game. For a game that happens once a week, I dont think it shouldbe to hard to keep up with that type of points once a week. Maybe there is more to it then I know. Not knowing where I stood really effected me on the last game on the Quarter. Having the points known would have really effected how I played that last game. IVe played the first 3 games of the new 2010 quarter, but kinda hinted to Rose that I may not continue due to this. Maybe Im being anal about it, but for as competitive a person as I am, I need to know this information. Im dissapointed that I did not make the cut and think It might have been different IF i knew exactly where I stood in the standings. This is nothing negative about the people here. Everyone has been great and nice to me. I also love the competition. There are alot of solid players here. A nice change of pace.I Still look foward to the games. I just hope there will be an easier way to keep track of the points.Charles...aka MASTER YODAvoices_shh

+1 to Yoda. As of the time of this post we have had 3 weeks of games but the point still only reflect 1 week. Not complaining either, it would just be nice to have the points up to date. More players would be good as well.Peace and chicken grease.

I am working on something as we speak to get someone to take care of the points on a weekly consistent basis, you all are 100% correct that this is a key factor to the successful continuation of the Negreanu OpenI have my own business now that requires me to work nights as well as a full time day job; oh yeah, and a wife and 2 kids, lol; I don't have the consistent time to commit to this any longer like it needs. Not making excuses here, just stating the facts, and these tournaments need someone that has more free time to devote to them.I started this 'project' 5 years ago and after nearly 500 some tournaments, and the fact I do not have time to play these any longer, I have not put the attention to this that it deserves. I have tried to hang on to this as long as I could because I have an emotional attachment to it and want to see it succeed, but can clearly see how that I am hindering it more than helping it due to my lack of time.Regarding promotion, there is a banner that rotates on the main page and there is a link on the main page that leads you here .... http://www.fullconta...greanu-open.phpRegarding Daniel, I can't answer for him personally, but when this was started it was never started with the intent of him playing. It was meant as a fun weekly venue for forum members to get together to have a good time and commune. The fact Daniel has played in a few of these should be considered an added bonus, but not an expectation. Daniel, Matt, Bob, Gov and the whole FCP crew devote their time, webspace, money and prizes to this weekly event and I am very grateful that each of them do what they do to keep this going.Again, I have some people that are stepping up to take care of the leaderboard moving forward after I train them. Thanks for your understanding and sorry once again for the recent inconveniences.Alan

That's prolly the hardest part. Obv DNA is very busy with life, and does the best he can with it. And obv Bob/DN and the FCP admin crew are more than generous about it, $250 end of year tourney bonus and quarterly prizes.....all of which they could easily suspend based on the poor attendance and various changes of FCP's purpose/goals as years have gone on. On the same token though, those that do play have a right to want some level of currency when it comes to results posting, etc. It's also a little painful seeing a 15-20 person pool each week.....that said though there's not a whole lot that can be done there unless more people get into playing. There's a whole lot more than 15-20 registered FCP'ers. If the 250 buck end up year throw in and free tshirts/hats/chip sets aren't enough incentive, nor is playing with your forum mates, there really isn't a whole lot that can be done. I'd love to see DN show up once or twice at the beginning of a quarter to kick it off with a bang and try to boost numbers.....but he clearly doesn't need to.I played one full quarter, earned my chip set, and I love it. I think hoodini has enough chip sets to host a WSOP event. It's really cool IMO. Just some thoughts. No real "answer" to this.

Hey if you guys are going to complain about this why don't you volunteer and do it? I mean if it is a big deal to you, you should do it yourselves.

I sent a few Pm's last year offering my Help to Alan, Don't want to complain per say, but I think we could try some promoting, Not sure what. Alan you did a great job and It was a wonderful idea. I just wish we could get more members out to our games. But it does need attention. You are a sweetie, and the last thing I want to do is take this out of your hands, as it is your baby. Just wish the boards can be maintained and getting some more players out to play, but you are arranging this so I leave it in your hands. Maybe because of the economy we need to look at lowering the price from $11.00 for a $5.50 game to get more out? another thought. As for Daniel maybe an appearance once in a while would not hurt it but work to boost it. Hey I did offer when I PM Alan and Bob last year and earlier today. I appreciate all your volunteer and work time and effort plus the work of everyone else and Daniels offerings for prizes. I want to see FCP'ers support this game. Build it back up to what we use to get number wise.

Couple of thoughts on recuitment. Speaking from experience from Holdem Freaks, The radio has helped add members. It costs as little as $15 a month and brings a new element to the game. Since the radio started, we have added a late game and even a later games on the weekends. This really created a buzz and helped recuit people to the site. Something like that could be done here too. Just an idea. I nust dont know if its worth it for just one game a week. If this is something you might like, I could help in this area.Daneil showing up once or twice would also create a buzz for future games. I know he probably has better things to do, but this is his forum. For myself, Ive never had the pleasure to play with him, but I know it sure would make me tell my friends,,," Hey, I played with Daneil Neg" and would bring people in by the boatload. I dont expect him to play, but I for one would get a big kick out of it. For this site, I just like that there are some solid players here and you can play some good poker. This is what has got me to come back. I think im learning new things and new moves to employ.Im still not sure how the points are kept, but im sure ill figure it out eventually. The prizes you guys have are great. 3 chips sets a quarter is awsome, not to mention the shirts for 4-9th place. Im still not clear on the end of year tourney, but im sure those prizes will be great too. I would encourage to promote the players who win weekly somehow. Maybe a banner to something. Maybe a player of the month or something. Just throwing out ideas here.Master Yoda
