Yeah, Pokerroom converter still doesn't work...(new at table, no reads)Hero dealt A:heart:J:spade: in MP+3*** Pre-Flop *** : 1 fold, UTG+1 checks (1st hand post), 3 folds, Hero raises, CO calls, Button folds, SB folds, BB calls, UTG+1 calls. With all folds and a check up to here, I think a raise goes from being appropriate to mandatory.*** Flop *** : J:club:2:club:4:spade: (8.5 SB) BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, CO raises, BB calls, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises, CO caps, BB folds, Hero calls. Flop top pair with a two flush, surprised to see it capped. To me, too much aggression, even for LAG, for a flush draw. I'm figuring I must be up against (in order of liklihood), top pair w/ K or Q kicker, J4 or J2, set of 2's or 4's, top pair w/ flush draw, gutshot draw w/ flush draw. *** Turn *** : [ J:club: 2:club: 4:spade: ] 7:club: DCWildcat : Bet ($0.50)pockethooks4 : Call ($0.50)Bet to find out where I'm at. Really surprised to simply be called...did he put me on a flush?*** River *** : [ J:club: 2:club: 4:spade: 7:club: ] K:spade: DCWildcat : Check*** SUMMARY ***Pot: 10.5 BBRemoved Villain's last play to curtail results-oriented thinking.Somehow reigned the aggression, for some reason I thought that that overcard might haunt me. Pretty sure I made a mistake there.Should I have checked the turn? Should I have bet the river after the simple call on the turn? If I check and she bets, what should I do? If I bet and he raises, what should I do?Talk amongst yourselves 8)

Mandatory bet there on the river.I'd rather bet/fold than check/call, though I would probably bet/call because I hate money.

With no reads, I'm putting him on most likely a set (or two pair) or a flush draw when he caps the flop, although top pair worse kicker is certainly possible.I probably would have gone all weak-tight and check-called him down after that, but bet-folding the turn is probably the better play. The pot's pretty big, but I agree with cddc that when he just calls the turn, follow up with bet-fold; you won't fold a better hand, but he calls you in this big pot if he does have JQ, JT, J9, etc. Unless you want to make absolutely sure you see his cards for info, then check-call the river.
Then you go to da box for 2 minutes by yourself, you feel shame... then you get free.

Although it's obvious what you mean, why would you want him to have JK when he'd have sucked out on the river? :D

I probably c/c the turn and c/f the river if bet into on the turn or b/f the river if he checks the turn behind. Looking at that hand again, I don't like leading out the turn after the flop cap.
