Weirdo Spot Vs Aggrotard

Shortstacking a little 25PLO on stars while eating lunch at the office today. This hand came up about 10-12 hands in; villain seems an aggro tard that never folds preflop if it isn't raised to him (he'll at least limp or match a limp), and often raises, but only pots sometimes. This hand's pretty trashy, gapped twice over and has weak flush draws...I don't see the point of a river bet...you've got showdown value, and he's never folding a better hand (even TP) to a bet.Turn, we probably have the best hand as he'd shove two pairs / sets otf, so you could bet/call

Betting the turn looks good. He can't really have a strong hand after bet-calling 1/6 pot on the flop and checking the turn. Since you've improved your hand and your pair of Jacks figures to be good quite often, I would bet the pot on the turn. If he has an unimproved overpair you will be putting him to a tough decision. And no matter what he has, he will always have outs to beat you, so you need to bet for protection/ value.EDIT: oh yeah, and fold preflop.

i bet turn, and that would have let us try and steal river when we miss

When you check the turn, you gotta check this river.If you bet this turn, you'd be effectively all-in if you potted. if you elected to bet less and got called, I would check the river down for the same basis as the 'check turn' decision above, in that you have some showdown value vs. naked str8/flush draws and he will seemingly call you down as light as 2 pair, esp as your line taken reeks of a missed draw.If you had a full clip for this hand, I probably would have fired a 3/4 PSB at this turn planning to shove any non diamond or ace on the river.EDIT: I have to admit when I think I gave a flawed statement. In the italicized above, I lie, as your line does not reek of a missed draw after you've pot raised the flop and bet the turn (in the hypothetical analysis). I still feel that you check the river back as your jack has some showdown value, but moreover if you do any reasonable non-pot bet on the turn, your river shove will be so light, that two pair could reasonably be expected to make a crying call. This bolsters the basis as to why your turn play must be either pot or check. I'd elect to check because our hand is so-so right now, and I would prefer a pot control line with a marginal hand here.
