I played in my first online MTT today, after playing only SnG's and small ring games. There were 986 entrants and my goal was to finish in the top 100, due to inexperience, I didn't want to set too high of a goal and accept further disappointment. I finished 46th. Flame on if you want, but I want to know if I am on the right track.I played only 14 hands and I only regretted one fold. I won eight of those 14. Two kk, two kq (one was suited), ak, qq, qj, and 10/10. I lost when I had AhAs and called flop was Qh 8s 2h and I went over the top of the minimum bet and he caught k on the river to get two pair. It sucks yeah, but I would do it again, and maybe that's a problem. What I have learned from this forum has helped, most importantly the math which got me out of some situations I would have definitely entered into previously. So for those newbie's that do not employ it in your game, you should consider it.Had I won my last hand I probably wouldn't post, but what I want to know is, is the amount of hands that I played over 90 minutes enough in general? Like I said I haven't played in such a large tourny before. I also find it tougher to get a read on people when the tables start merging later on. Any constructive help is appreciated.

So wait a minute, there were over 900 ppl and you only played for 90 and you finished 46th. Something doesnt add up here. I think you're playing too tight, make some more plays at the blinds. Stealing the blinds is very important late in tourneys, more so depending on how much the blinds represent as a % of your entire stack. Could you defend your limping with AA preflop? I'm not sure why people do that, it just gets you into too much trouble.
The path
of the righteous man is beset on
all sides by the inequities of the
selfish and the tyranny of evil
men. Blessed is he who, in the
name of charity and good will,
shepherds the weak through the
valley of darkness, for he is truly
his brother's keeper and the finder
of lost children.
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those
who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.
And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

I played for an hour and 41 minutes, not that that would make any difference. You are right, I played a few more hands, 30. I folded more than I thought. At the time I went out there were 101 hands that I was at a table for.As far as the preflop limp with AA, I was trying to get more people in so I could triple up or more, I didn't feel like I had a choice at the time. Two hearts on the board and an over pair. I had only 3500 in chips and decided then to try and make a play.It is funny that you comment on it, I am reading ss2 and the godfather advises against what I did most often. Thanks for the help.
