Here is the prop bet proposal I made:

No odds. I'll give you 7.5 points. I would like the win in the event of a tie because i think Toronto's upcoming schedule is slightly easier than Montreal's. We will put the deadline at the end of Montreal's game against Washington on November 28th. That gives Toronto 12 games in the bet and Montreal 12 games in the bet.

Here is the schedule:

Toronto vs...
Nov 3rd - Tampa Bay LOST 2-1 OT
6th - @ Carolina WON 3-2
7th - Detroit WON 5-1
10th - Minnesota LOST 5-2
13th - @ Chicago LOST 3-2
14th - Calgary LOST 5-2
17th - @ Ottawa LOST 3-2
19th - @ Carolina LOST 6-5 SO
21st - Washington WON 2-1 OT
23rd - NY Islanders LOST 4-3 OT
25th - @ Tampa Bay WON 4-3
27th - @ Florida

Montreal vs...
Nov 3rd - Atlanta LOST 5-4
5th - @ Boston WON 2-1 SO
7th - Tampa Bay LOST 3-1
10th - Calgary LOST 1-0
12th - @ Phoenix WON 4-2
14th - @ Nashville LOST 2-0
17th - Carolina WON 3-2 SO
20th - @ Washington WON 3-2
21st - Detroit LOST 3-2 SO
24th - Columbus WON 5-3
25th - @ Pittsburgh LOST 3-1
28th - Washington

Running Total
Toronto 11
Montreal 11

I think looking at the recent play of the Leafs and with the addition of the Monster fulltime and Kessel, it might be too easy a bet..

Ok i wont jinx it..

i really think we pass them before the end of the month.

Booked!

I was disappointed other people accepted the bet. I think we could've got 8.5 points instead of 7.5 tongue.gif

Kudos to Monkey though for proposing a bet that finishes with his team playing Washington. Very gentlemanly.

(2) 76'ers to win title @ 31
Webb Simpson to win US Money Title @ 17
Brandt Snedeker to win US Money Title @ 26
(5) Broncos to win the AFC @ 11
(2.5) Broncos to win the SB @ 21
(2) Bears to win SB @ 42

I predict Montreal will go 7-5 or 6-6 in the next 12 games. Toronto will go 5-7 at best.

This is a terrible prediction. Without taking into account overtime/shootout losses, you are missing 30% of Montreal's points and 60% of the Leafs.

Thank you, and thank you. I was trying not to rub in what seems to have been a disastrous Saturday for Serge. How many points does Adam have?

What i'm saying is the Leafs won't get more than 10 points in the next 12 games. Montreal will get at least 12.

68 points after a very good Week 4 where the Lost Cause went 11-3-2.

you are missing the main point that is clear as can be:

The Montreal Canadiens are a very bad team who has been getting lucky in overtime and shootouts.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are a superior team who needed time to figure some stuff out ie Vesa Toskala needs to change careers.

Also Phil Kessel(he of the 40 goal shot) will be back SOON, possibly tomorrow.

The Montreal Canadiens have only one win where they have won by more than one goal..That was against the Islanders.

Luck only goes so far.

You are missing the bigger point...Montreal continues to do well in OT and SO and Toronto continues to suck in OT and SO. Why do you continue to consider this luck? It would be the same as claiming someone is lucky when their pocket 8s beats your AK more often than not.

LOL...the Leafs only have ONE win!

And to top it off we have the same amount of losses...7...

The shootout wins and OT wins arent really wins..They are just glorified ties that the NHL decided to give points away for...We dont have luck, so we lose these glorified bonus points.

It will even out soon enough...

Your poker analogy is very good actually...We have been losing a ton of coinflips this year...Just because you get a lucky break and win shootouts doesnt mean you are better..

this bet we made is the easiest bet i have made so far..

The coalition(me , Danny and Dubey) are gonna crush you.

The points Montreal earned for winning the OTs and SOs are glorifired bonus points but the points Toronto earned for losing the OTs and SOs are not...lol that just about sums up everything.

You are wrong..The Leafs didnt get points for losing shootouts or OTs...We get the point for TIEing after 3 periods....The BONUS points we didnt get lucky on.

PIERRE AND REJEAN a CAC love story:

Pierre and Rejean at the Bell Centre Saturday night:

Pierre: Hey Rejean we are up by 2 lets start the NANANANA chant.

Rejean: Mon Ami its still tres early lets not jinx the boys.

Pierre: Early schmearly this is the Leafs they cant score one , let alone two.

Rejean: Ok Pierre, but i am scared and hopefully it wont ruin our perfect evening.

Pierre gets up and starts chanting:

NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA hey hey hey oh shit....

Rejean: See pierre they scored you jinxed them.

Pierre: Tabernac they got lucky they wont score again.

Leafs tie it up in the last minute.

Rejean: **** you Pierre, our love and relationship is over. You are going to sleep on the couch tonight. You jinxed our beatiful CAC night. NO **** for you tonight.

Some comments I can't wait to see halfway through the year when the Leafs are 7-22-12.

Burke: Are you guys crazy? We can't abandon our plan halfway through the season. That'd be frickin' ridiculous. Get the hell outta here...this press conference is over.

Serge: We've looked good so far. We should have won at least 20 of those games we lost.
