Nobel Peace Prize Committee has gone off of the deep end!

Aren't we all just parasites living on God's frozen turdballs anyway? Every time God takes a shit, a new galaxy is born. The Milky Way is just a bad case of diarrhea.

My guess is that Obama received the prize since they could not think of anyone else deserving. Maybe he won based only on the fact that he replaced Bush?

I agree it makes no sense at all. Such is life.

Is this a joke?

I honestly expected a link to the Onion or a Rik Roll.

Amazing.

Apologizing for the US apparently wins you the NOBEL PRIZE but not the OLYMPICS

The deadline for nominations was two weeks after he was elected.

So, what's the over/under on the number of posts before someone makes an "Obama, you won the Nobel Prize, and Imma let you finish..." joke?

This isn’t totally unprecedented.

In 1987 Oscar Arias received the Nobel Peace prize for presenting A PLAN to end unrest in Central America.

I think what happened was that the committee couldn’t agree on anyone so Obama was the default.

Or that they got really drunk the night before, went out with strippers and tequila and the like, and woke up the next morning after having slept through their alarm.

"Oh, crap! We were supposed to pick the Nobel Peace Prize this morning! It's due in 5 minutes. Ah, screw it, just give it to Obama. I'm going back to bed."

On a related note,

The NBA has decided to award the 2010 NBA championship to the Knicks, based on their awesome work ethic, and unlimited potential based upon their preseason performance.

This is pretty farking ridiculous and I would be surprised if Obama himself wasn't shocked by this.

I think everyone deep down knows that Obama basically won the "you're not Bush" prize. This is merely a "reward" for conducting international affairs in a way that Europe thinks is preferable.

I read about a candidate who has been setting up schools for women in remote parts of Afghanistan. He would have had my vote. That takes some serious cojones. But, I hope (though after seeing Steele's comments I know it is a futile hope) that people wont get mad at Obama for this. He was not even aware he was nominated. He was as shocked as anyone. He handled it humbly and moved on. What exactly else should he do? Send it back? It's like cheering the US losing the Olympics. Really? Are you that happy to see Obama fail? Did you not want him to try and help get the Olympics?

The right has reached the point (of openly rooting against him in all ways big and small) with Obama in 9 months that it took the left 4-5 years, a failed war built on false intel, and a failure to prevent the worst terrorist attack since Pearl Harbor to reach. Congrats.

The anger has nothing to do with Obama personally. The anger is at the obvious political bias of the Nobel people. Obama has done nothing... but it's not his fault that he won. LOL at him 'not knowing' that he was nominated. (I have a bridge to sell you... yada yada)

As for the last paragraph... Bush had nothing to do with the things that you mentioned. The intel was from the CIA and congress voted for the war. He also was in office less time than Obama has been when 9/11 happened. Think the media would blame Obama with the roles reversed?

Obama desires to turn our country into a socialism... so I definitely hope he fails [at that]... but it's not because I hate my country, it's because I love it.

If Bush had nothing to do with a war and its intel and/or defending a terror attack nine months into his presidency, then I have to kinda reconsider everything I thought I knew about what the president does. Bush: the buck stops with the CIA.

I think Fox News would blast Obama under similar circumstances while the msm would hedge between rallying around the president and asking pointed questions.

He does not desire to turn the country into a socialism (whatever that means) he merely wants the country to be 65% capitalist 35% socialist (whereas most GOP members seem to prefer about 80/20). We have had lots of socialist ideas in this country for a very long time. We have even come to the point where people on both sides agree that some of them are good ideas. This is one of several retarded themes that the GOP never gets called on because it would actually take 30 seconds of discussion to explain it and that isnt happening on TV.

Also, this is not just about you. There were crowds of conservative activists cheering when the news broke about Chicago's 4th place finish. Cheering America losing because it made Obama look like he failed. Maybe you are staying classy Brv, but the most vocal GOP supporters have gone off the deep end.

Let me know about that bridge. Because I really dont think he knew. I think they would have been a little further ahead of the story if he had even an inkling he might win.
