Here is today's summary of Daniel in the run-up to the Poker Hall of Fame race. "A bit harsh" angry.gif with the Dark Side comment IMHO. Judge for yourself.

Daniel Negreanu

Former Life: High school dropout and pool hustler in Toronto
Career Tournament Earnings: $12.4 million
Major Wins: 4 bracelets and 2 WPT titles
Catch Phrase: Anything he says while impersonating Scotty Nguyen.
Claim to Fame: No one has won more money playing live tournaments than Negreanu, and he did it without the benefit of winning a WSOP Main Event.
Dark Side: Negreanu is a degenerate prop bettor and was rumored to have lost almost $1 million on the golf course.
Chances of Making Hall of Fame in 2009: 25 to 1

Ok, it could be worse, but there are a lot of other poker players that have made a poker career of non-stop prop bets.

If by "degen" you mean "Just like dozens, if not hundreds of other well known gamblers" then you might be right. Otherwise, who friggin' cares what he does with his money? Do people screen babseball players for what they do with their cash before allowing them into the HoF? Well, Pete Rose and a select few others aside...

But, seriously, if making prop bets a "dark side", when the HoF in question is for a pasttime of a gambling nature? It just doesn't make sense, except in some ****ed up morality pretzel of illogic by whoever wrote that 'tardfeast.

If prop betting is a "dark side" then Doyle shouldn't be in there and Ivey would NEVER get in lol. Compared to the other poker players out there, my prop betting habits are extremely mild. I just gamble on the golf course mostly.

That is for sure. That was den of degeneracy there. I was actually thinking about that the other day. I remembered one bet that Dan had 5 seconds to spell Varlamov backwards.
