Guy Laliberte, of Cirque de Soleil fame, is set to head off to space in a few days. People from here may know him from appearances on HSP and PAD I believe. It's going to cost $35 million.

Good for him.

Funny how everyone was so shocked that he dumped a couple million online, like "What a loser."

Then he throws $35 million down for a mini vacation, AND figures a way to write it off his taxes.

I bet Lance Bass is crying right now.

Maybe if you start by selling performances on the street like he did.

Yeah, but that's a pretty good bet anytime.
Homer: Moe, I need your advice.
Moe: Yeah?
Homer: See, I got this friend named... Joey Jo Jo... Junior... Shabadoo.
Moe: That's the worst name I ever heard.

Its a picture of one of the first layouts of facebook. The wall posts were shown bottom to top, so that the newest one would be on top. Meaning the bottom one was indeed first,

The corn dog reference was obliquely funny.
“We had all the momentum. We were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look west, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark, that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.” —Raoul Duke, Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas

I'm generally jealous of insanely rich people getting to do things like this, but after watching the launch highlights about 5 times on NASA tv, I'm sincerely happy for this guy. I don't know anything about Guy Laliberte, but he seems like a happy, fun loving person. He definitely had a look of "this is an awesome ($35 million) vacation."

Looking forward to watching the docking activities here in a few minutes.
