Your team roster must consist of the following 20 players:

* 6 Defensemen
Here is a link to the players salaries, I have a cap of $60M, can you find out who is listed with a low salary that is set to have a great year.

How I would approach this pool would be to create a spreadsheet with all the listed players and their 2008/09 stats and figure out how many points in total and per game each averaged and compare that to salaries to see who is undervalued and overvalued based on last year.
I would take a look at the undervalued players and see which of them I expect to do even better this year and those of course would be the ones that I would focus on. I also would look at things like injury history and stay away from players like Gaborik who are made of porcelain and of course I would look at each player who I'm interested in and try and project their current situation for this year.

What I am looking for also is players that changed teams and will benefit a lot from their moves.
I am also looking for up and comers (Stamkos? Ryan?)

I think high scoring dman, are very valuable. There arent a lot of them.
only a handful of D score more than 10-15 goals a year
Check out Bogosian's stats, take his numbers over a full season he would of scored 16 goals last year.

Backstrom at 4.3M looks good.
steals: Tavares. Giroux, Peverley, Voracek, Neidermeiyer, Cambell, Kariya, Ebbett.
Guys with SOG and PIM: Hartrnell, Morrow, Backes, Brown...
Goalies: I've banked on Emery doing good this season in most of my pools, he's probably cheap.

Yeah, he had some discipline problems but if he can keep that together then he can be a very good goalie. Do you forget he brought the Senators deep?

And exactly why I think everyone overrates Philly still.
edit - although not by much, the Flyers are a very good hockey team, it's just that the most important position is a HUGE question mark at this point in the season. It's a gamble, could pay off, or they could go down in flames like they have the last 15 years trying to make it without a sure fire #1 goalie...

A 'fun' league, with several people missing the draft and new to the league. I don't love how the early part went, as I had 9th pick. As an example, Parise and Semin were both auto-drafted in the late teens! I thought Parise was already drafted, and am now trying to trade
Forwards:
Iginla, Cammalleri, Gagne, Setoguchi, Pominville, Antropov
Defence:
Green, Wideman, Blake, Zidlicky
Bench:
Jason Blake, Dustin Brown, Kubina, Kuba and Wisniewski
Goalies:
Backstrom, Steve Mason
Overall I'm happy, one of the better teams. Backstrom and Mason were the 9th and 12th goalies picked, so they were eagerly snapped up by me. Not sure how much I like Iginla and Green over Parise and Semin, and that is haunting me, but hopefully I can make a deal.
Thoughts?

It seemed to be me like he 'just didn't get it' and that he needed a 'wakeup call'. Obv going to the KHL for a year would hopefully do it.
Always prefered Emery over Gerber but not sure he could have turned it around.
