They win best reality competition show every year. It has become a joke.
I'll be watching also. I refuse to root for the poker girls.

Just finished watching it. I don't think they came off that bitchy, I think people were just pissed that they lied right off the bat. It's a game people get over it.
This is such a great reality show. There were points in the show (especially with the license plate thing at the beginning) where my heart actually started beating fast and I was talking to the TV lol.
I think there are a lot more likeable teams this season. I'm rooting for the team that has the guy with aspergers syndrome.
I went to high school with the guy who was eliminated at the end of the episode. He was a senior when I was a freshman. I know this because I got in a fight with his little brother and he came in and threw me against a wall and broke up the fight. lol small world.

I'm rooting for Team Montana, although Team Asburger is pretty funny. The Team Jew is pretty cool, too. that Christian chick (Mika?) is moking hot.

I will be rooting for the Globetrotters too, and I thought that quircky eccentric guy who took off his shoes in Vietnam was pretty funny too.
The thing I hate about the producers of this show is that they try to over-do the relationship part. I understand that they try to get some sort of attachment to the so called "character", but I just think its over done. It seems they portray half the relationships as borderline, and the race is what will bring them together. I just think they try to hard to get this point across, because it almost seems scripted.

I was kind of hoping they'd cut them a break and let them skip the first leg of the race and fly to vietnam instead of japan. lol.

And to consider herself as "a very successful poker player" and "actress" is reeeeaaaaaally far-fetched. I wish someone would kick her ass.

The globetrotters made me chuckle for the first time while watching this show.
The producers love the hot chicks with gay boyfriends angle.
Japanese women can be exceptionally good looking.

Yes, but the sailor suits certainly help, too :-)

"The bluff we're running is that we work for a homeless shelter"
Such a good bluff, in fact, that they were "1 outed" (haha) by some n00btard in line at the airport and now at least three other teams know and a couple of others suspect. They remind me of a quote:
"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt" - Abe Lincoln

globetrotters all the way-- seem like a couple of class acts. I saw them cheering on some of their competition. hope they do well
the line -- "it was like godzilla walking down the street" was priceless

Sucks for the team eliminated at the starting line, but they didn't seem like they would be all that interesting to watch. And I was glad to see Garrett/Jessica eliminated (should've been Maria/Tiffany but being a 2 hour episode, I knew they'd be saved. They weren't going to eliminate 2 teams on the first night). He reminded me of that guy last season (Terrence?) who acted like a spazzy gay guy and berated his GF the entire race.
I don't like Lance, he's an obnoxious goon, and I can't stand Tiffany Michelle either. She's pretty damn full of herself for a chick who at best is barely above average attractive-wise and looks old for her age. And if she were truly a "very successful pro poker player", odds are someone out of 11 teams would've actually recognized her. She ran like a golden luckbox in 1 main event, otherwise we wouldn't even know who she is. You want to put poker players on the Amazing Race, let Mike Matasow and Gavin Smith do it. It would be hilarious to watch Mikey run around Tokyo with his fanny pack on.
But other than those 2, I agree with Tanner, and I think this season will be enjoyable to watch because there are many likable teams. I like Team Ass-Burger, the father-son team is ok, and the gay brothers seem cool.
Hard to pick a favorite yet. The competition seems pretty wide open. I'm rooting for Meghan/Cheyne (it does bother me he spells his name that way though). She's super cute and he does not seem to be the super-tool I thought he'd be. Also rooting for the Globetrotters.
The older couple seems nice but boring, same with the inter-racial couple. And that Mika chick is hot too, but her and country music boyfriend don't seem all that bright. I think they will struggle a bit.

INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTAR

i think that's how they're proving to the world(and maybe themselves) that they're "successful" poker players by using poker parlance in a different setting. clever. i can't wait for one of them to say "amazing raceaments"

I don't berate players unless they are donkeys making bad plays
