The only problem with that last play against Utah was Haslem should have made the extra pass to Chalmers wide open in the corner but even that's a quibble.
I usually only see the nationally televised Heat games, so tell me if this isn't true anymore, but LeBatard has been talking all season about how broken Haslem's jumper is. Has he fixed it? Why put him in that position when you know Utah is going to double Lebron in a pick and roll situation? (Bosh instead of Haslem would've been nice there.)The thing about this Lebron issue is that it was absolutely the right play, all things being equal. But...all things weren't equal, right? Lebron was in a zone where everything he threw up was going in. Would it really be so bad to just rise up and take the jumper there? When he put up his 48 Special he was taking ridiculous shots; should he have been passing more? I feel like if you really broke it down analytically (true shooting percentage while literally (literally!) on fire), Lebron taking the shot against a double team might've been "smarter" than Haslem taking an open shot.As someone who just enjoys watching basketball at the highest levels, I don't always want to see the technically correct play. I want to watch the best players in the world make incredible plays. I am fully aware that this won't always coincide with the play that gives you the best chance of winning. All that being said, holy f is Lebron amazing. Knee jerk reaction to last two games: Bosh is more valuable to the Heat than Wade?
