Since the last one was such a success, the NHL Alumni and Shoot For A Cure have combined to do another poker tournament at the Hall of Fame. This one will be bigger and better, with more celebs and a LOWER buy in!

In the email Toni said she will extend the early registration to September 23rd....Still not clear though, is it $1600 for 9 people?

I am assuming you get 9 people and they will put a celeb on your table, so like your own private table??

Yes, exactly. And that private table will be in the Great Hall...

Won't be able to make this one, unfortunately, but if there's another one next spring I'd totally be interested.

Yeah, I'm running this one as well. Bit of a different setup... this time there will be a VIP tournament section in the Great Hall, with a bunch of perks that go with that, or regular registration is $125. Of course, if you guys put together a table, I will ensure you get a premium celeb. We also hope to have some leaf players this time since they will be in town and in between games....

This sounds good..So I am assuming it wont be Ryan Vandenbushe... icon_biggrin.gif

So how does the actual tourney work, with the VIP section being different.

We all start separate, but as players get busto you merge the separate groups??

or is the VIP tourney totally different than the regular?

I know its for charity and you need to raise money, but my one beef with this tourney's is the rebuys. I think its negative ev to rebuy, and I rather spend the extra money to give to the charity through the auction or other means.

Thanks

The VIP section will be guaranteed at least two hours playing amongst themselves until the tourney merges, if not longer. As far as the rebuys go, there is only a single rebuy. I know you would spend the money elsewhere, but not everyone would do that, and it's really crucial to the fundraising to be able to do rebuy and addon. The easy solution is don't go busto until the addon, then you get lots of chips!!

The idea of nine of us on a table with a big name hockey player for two hours is priceless.

Can you imagine the conversations.

Also poor hockey player, who is usually a novice poker player sitting with the nine of us..

Dang! If it was on the 9th you might have been able to get Crosby, Malkin & Co. as they play in Toronto on the 10th. But they play on the 8th.
When I go to a fast food restaurant, and my order comes to $6.28, I like to give the cashier $18.71. They look at me and say 'What's this?' and I say 'I'm all in'. They usually fold.

I would have been in on this, but that will most likely be the night of my hockey pool draft. (the one you were in last year Serge)

Sorry to miss it, catch the next one hopefully.

of course your invited, I just didnt know the date, so I hadnt sent out anything yet.

I was trying to stay away from picking this night, so I could go to the tourney, but it became unavoidable.
