You can't make this kind of awesome stuff up ...

http://abcnews.go.com/US/michigan-mom-aime...8830&page=1

Here are the highlights ....

A Michigan mother is facing a trial after being accused of having a summer romance with the teenage son she gave up for adoption.

She had given the child up early on in life for adoption

Sword began a sexual relationship with her biological son in the summer of 2008 after reconnecting with him on the Internet

Sword's lawyer Kenneth Burch told ABCNews.com that his client has pleaded not guilty ahead of the pre-trial date set for Sept. 21.

Oh and because I know someone is going to ask ......

Isn't this just a modern take on one of the oldest stories around?

Edit: Wait, did she know it was her son? I assumed she didn't know.
Homer: Moe, I need your advice.
Moe: Yeah?
Homer: See, I got this friend named... Joey Jo Jo... Junior... Shabadoo.
Moe: That's the worst name I ever heard.

The article makes it seem like she purposely found him and banged him without his knowledge, while he's still underaged.

I was under the same assumption as you, that they just happened to hook up, and I didn't think that would be a huge criminal offense. Intentionally banging your 15?/16? year old son that you let go when he was born seems more illegal though.

reading the story on digg, there's some speculation that the kid just made up the story because he's a headcase. there were some comments removed from the original website that ran the article to that effect, supposedly.
