When Anaheim doesn't score, that's a problem for my team. Last night my Anaheim players got shut out and I start the season 0-1 despite my OT player Alexander Semin scoring two goals and an assist. Oh well, at least I lost to a good team, Shoot Loose.

LOLBobby Ryan, Corey Perry and Scott Niedermayer VS Jason Blake, Viktor Stahlberg, Jeff Finger and Mike Komisarek. I smell a prop bet.
Please use the comments to demonstrate your own ignorance, unfamiliarity with empirical data and lack of respect for scientific knowledge. Be sure to create straw men and argue against things I have neither said nor implied. If you could repeat previously discredited memes or steer the conversation into irrelevant, off topic discussions, it would be appreciated. Lastly, kindly forgo all civility in your discourse . . . you are, after all, anonymous.

Oct 8th lineup vs. The Underdogs:1. Alexander Semin, WAS. OT G A2. Bobby Ryan, ANA. G3. Corey Perry, ANA. G G A4. Olli Jokinen, CAL.5. Simon Gagne, PHI.6. Anze Kopitar, LA.7. Scott Neidermayer, ANA. A A8. Alex Goligoski, PIT. G A9. John-Michael Liles, COL. A10. Brent Seabrook, CHI. ASAN JOSE Semin and Kopitar are off to excellent starts this season, but more is expected of Ryan, Perry, Jokinen, and Gagne. It's early in the season, and this could be the breakout game for the Thieves offense. San Jose goalies have been REALLY shaky giving up 6 goals in their last game, but expect a better effort tonight vs. Columbus. On defense, Goligoski looks like the go to guy in Pittsburgh this season and Seabrook is off to a quick start as well. Neidermayer and Liles, both veterans, will turn it around eventually. This is another powerhouse lineup for the Thieves.UNDERDOGS:FORWARDS1-JEAN-PIERRE DUMONT NSH OT2-DANIEL CLEARY DET3-MIKE KNUBLE WSH4-DAVE BOLLAND CHI5-MIKE COMRIE edm6-TRENT HUNTER NYIDEFENCE7-BARRETT JACKMAN STL8-ANTON VOLCHENKOV OTT9-TOM GILBERT EDM10-STEVE MONTADOR BUFGOALIESNASHVILLE The Thieves are close to a 4-1 favorite to win this game.

The Cheap Thieves are finished.... Star forward Darcy Tucket just got immobilized from behind, and Bobby Ryan has been demoted off the top line in favour of Jeffrey Lupul.

Bobby Ryan getting demoted is like the best thing EVER for me! I already have a sick group of forwards and don't need him to score, but this is a contract year and I'll get to sign him really cheap woooot!

The deadline for sending players back to the farm just passed, and four Cheap Thieves made the cut and will be on the team for their rookie season:Bobby Ryan, ANA. $2.00 Age 22 NHL Draft Pos: 1st rd 2nd 2005 (drafted by Cheap Thieves in 2005)- Ryan led all NHL rookies last season in points despite starting out in the minors and is looking to win the AHL rookie of the year award this season. He started out slowly, being demoted from the top line in Anaheim, but recently had a breakout game and looks to be on track.T.J. Oshie, STL. $1.00 Age 22 NHL Draft Pos: 1st rd 24th 2005 (drafted by Cheap Thieves in 2005)- Oshie currently had an emergency appendectomy but should be back in action next week. Oshie is an exciting prospect that often dominates a game, but started off slowly in his sophomore season. Nonetheless, Oshie is a lock to be awarded a 5 year contract from the team at season's end.Nicklas Bergfors, NJ. $0.50 Age 22 NHL Draft Pos: 1st rd 23rd 2005 (drafted by Cheap Thieves in 2005)- Bergfors could be a key member of the Cheap Thieves because of his relatively inexpensive salary. The team is stacked with high end forwards and Bergfors represents that cheap contract with upside kind of player who could score 60+ points in the NHL. Bergfors wasn't expected to make the Thieves this season, but impressed coaches and is getting PP time in New Jersey. Taylor Chorney, EDM. $0.25 Age 22 NHL Draft Pos: 2nd rd 36th 2005 (drafted by Cheap Thieves in 2007)- Chorney was overlooked in 2005, 2006, and fell to the 5th round in 2007 where the Thieves nabbed the d-man. He isn't expected to produce much offensively this season, but the Thieves needed bodies on the back end and Chorney won the job in Edmonton and is playing regularly. His future with the team is undetermined, but he likely won't even qualify for a multi-year contract.MISSING THE CUT:Jack Skille, CHI. $1.50 Age 22 NHL Draft Pos: 1st rd 7th 2005 (drafted by Cheap Thieves in 2005)- Much like Bobby Ryan last season, Skille is a victim of the numbers game as the Blackhawks are flirting with salary cap trouble. Skille has proven he can perform at the NHL level and will eventually get his chance, however, in the meantime he is being shuffled back and forth from the minors to the NHL.Benoit Pouliot, MIN. $2.00 Age 22 NHL Draft Pos: 1st rd 4th 2005 (drafted by Cheap Thieves in 2005)- Pouliot has been a huge disappointment after being a 1st round pick in 2005, a draft class that essentially built the strength of this Cheap Thieves team. Pouliot's passion and work ethic have been questioned, and he will not get a call up until he can show more consistency at the NHL level. His future with the team is undetermined.
