I Hate Folding 2nd Set

I have a bit of history with villain, this was about an orbit after my other post today. Villain paused a bit before he checked the flop. Am I ever good here? JA/WB? Obv I'm not flatting the c/r. Classic really hard decision I think. The Villain has enough behind to really pound you if you lose. I'm not necessary assuming he has KK here, but he could have a variety of FD/OESD's where he could be drawing 50/50 or better still. This is what makes Omaha so exciting, but so swingy.I highly doubt I could fold it.....but I'm really not excited about it. This hand is the reason I love omaha, but rarely play in the ring at this point.

I don't mind laying it down here. Against only a naked flush draw (no pair) you're 70/30 ahead. Against any kind of combo draw you're behind or a dead on 50/50 flip. Obviously against kings you're fked, since you have almost no way to improve your hand. This is a super easy fold preflop when it comes to you for 3 bets. Again, you have 3 diamonds and very few ways to smash the board on the flop. You will have position post, which is good, but UTG is still to act after you when you flat call the $9 pre. What are you going to do preflop when UTG repots and MP flat calls it?

One less variable makes it more or less a snapshove, right? If a rainbow flop comes out, or villain doesn't open preflop, it seems easy.

Fold preflop. You can't profitably call 10% of your stack preflop with this hand. Plus, if UTG has AAxx or some other hand he wants to 4bet with, you have to fold. If it was a single raise, the call would be fine, but given that 1) it's a 3bet pot2) You have 3 diamonds in your hand3) You have a dangler (AJJ8 would be a much better hand)You should definitely be giving this up preflop.Ok, on to the flop. Why are you flat calling a 1/2 pot bet with a set on a draw heavy board like that? Raise the flop. As played, get the money in. Sure, you'll run into KKxx some of the time, but he can just as easily have KJxx or a big draw.

I would never ever flat on the flop regularly, but it was a situational read that the opener was interested as well, so I flatted to see what he would do. If he folds, I call/shove any non-club, non-broadway turn.

What they said - this is no good preflop for a reraise, but once you see the flop, play it hard. I mean, if you're gonna play this with the PF action how can you ever fold once you flop the set? What else, short of two jacks on the flop, could you possibly want?

I like you Frez, but I really hate posts like this. Just because you flop a set doesn't mean you're in good shape, even if you wanted to flop a set (bc who doesn't).

Aww, I love you too.Did you run some equities? Seriously, you hit your hand, you're probably ahead. You may not be over 50%, but you're likely more than 30% - which is what you need if everyone gets it in here.
