Actually it's used in NL, PL, and limit. It's when you bet preflop, check the flop, and either raise a bet on the flop, or bet out on the turn.

you dont have to raise preflop.Say I have T9Flop is TT9I bet, someone raises, I call.Turn xI bet...That's a stop n go.I stoped on the flop and went on the turn.

question: not that it really matters much, but say in your example wrto, I bet the flop, get raised, call. then check/raise the turn. is that considered a stop n go? and a question with more relevance...What are the best times to use stop n go's? WHen you hit huge on the flop obviously, nut flush or boat or something, but what about draws? I like betting out my draws and then calling a raise, betting out if it hits on the turn...is it better to go for a check/raise and free card, or is this better in bad position like from the blinds?

Your situation is more of a slow play and gives out a little more information, stop and go is more of a "hey, i just hit something"
The path
of the righteous man is beset on
all sides by the inequities of the
selfish and the tyranny of evil
men. Blessed is he who, in the
name of charity and good will,
shepherds the weak through the
valley of darkness, for he is truly
his brother's keeper and the finder
of lost children.
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those
who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.
And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is SB with [Th], [Tc]. MP1 posts a blind of $1. 3 folds, BB calls, MP1 folds, CO calls, Button calls.Flop: (9 SB) [6c], [5d], [Ts] (4 players)Hero bets, Hero calls, CO calls.Turn: (9 BB) [2c] (3 players)Hero bets, Hero calls, CO calls.River: (21 BB) [3d] (3 players)Hero bets, CO calls, Button calls.Final Pot: 24 BBI used a stop and go this hand to try to disguise my strength on the flop - CO was a total rock, so I figured he must have flopped an underset. (Button had just sat down, so I didn't have a clue what he was betting.) So to try to keep my action going on the turn, I slowed down on the flop (plus I thought maybe CO would cap it anyway, but he didn't), planning to bet out on the turn. I'm not sure if the turn gets capped if I had capped the flop or not. What do you guys think? Good move, or FPS?
Then you go to da box for 2 minutes by yourself, you feel shame... then you get free.

I like it...only real hand that's worrisome is 78 or something
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

the stop-n-go set ine is one of my favorites, very nice. Its best to use it against aggressive opponents

As it turned out, it was the dream situation on the flop - CO had 66 for middle set, and button had 55 for bottom set. Ka-ching!
