I guess Koivu is not going to get signed, but Tanguay asked to start contract negotiations weeks ago and tha Habs said they had other priorities. I feel like we could have signed him at good value pre-July 1st, but now he's going to receive offers and his value will likely increase. I really want to keep Tanguay, he's our best winger. I think Tanguay is a fallback option for him. Im not really sure you get guys for that much cheaper on June 1 than you do on July 1, unless he gets a stupid offer from somone overpaying him, and by then its up to Gainey to decide if Tanguay is worth overpaying to keep. Their offence is going to be hurting without Cammalleri, Boyd, and Bertuzzi. They certainly don't have a whole lot of money left to pay for more help up front.Moss, Glencross, and Nystrom are going to have to step up their games if we're going to see any scoring anywhere outside of the top line.
