It's never too early to start looking forward to the upcoming Winter Olympics, and with them being in Vancouver in 2010 that means more regular viewing times for hockey here in the States.

There has been talk that USA hockey wants to go with a youth movement, and with the announcement of the 34 man roster for their upcoming August camp (in the burbs of Chicago), they weren't kidding.

USA Hockey 34 man roster

Like the article states, this isn't final, but these players are believed to have the upper hand. I for one think that we have a chance to make some noise in Vancouver. I hope Buff makes it, since I assume the people of Vancouver already hate him.

Only if I put spaces between each letter.

I didn't design this gay system.

How's that?

With all the Pens (and ex-Pens)that were listed, I may have to switch my allegiance from Canada to the US. I guess I'm not all that patriotic - I just cheer for the players I'm used to cheering for.

This isnt a troll post, or something to upset the masses ...however:

If the Penguins win the Stanley Cup, I will stop watching hockey for a full year.

This is a 100% true story.

looking at that roster makes me think Burke is trying to set up a premise for Miracle on Ice II, at which point he decides to play his own role.

At least the team would be fun to watch. There are some interesting possible line combos where they could go with two young players and a guy who has been there before. Like Kane-Drury-Parise.

Yeah, I think our team should be pretty darn good (if that's the final roster, but I would imagine that the real roster won't be too different).

As long as they don't bring back some of the older players from past teams, they will be ok. I think veteran leadership is over valued in the Olympics. It's good to have 1 or 2 veteran leaders, but you don't need complete lines of oldies.
