"I’m going out with a lot of confidence. I believe I can be successful. I believe I can win."
lol I think he stoled those words from me before my first WSOP main event. I was out on day one. I hope he books a return flight soon. On a side note I won my seat a few weeks ago. I'll be playing on the 3rd. If all goes well I'll make it through day one and then I'll begin thinking about the rest of the tournament.

<< Is on a first-name, "call me if you need anything" basis with one person named in that article.
Haven't played at St. Johns or OP since the cap was lifted, but can't wait to get back down there and boost even more $ from the fishies.
(St. Johns has the fishiest LHE game I've ever- EVER- seen, and I ****ing hate LHE. I almost stayed in St. Aug just for that...)

“I won a tournament at Orange Park. I got hooked by watching it on television. I watch it every time it’s on television. It’s an advantage for me to know the pros and they don’t know me.”
“I watch it all the time. I read a lot of books. Personally, I have a lot of confidence in my game, even considering the amount of talent that would be there. The last four or five winners have had very little experience in poker. It can happen.”
"When Chris Moneymaker won in 2003, it gave everyone of us hope that we can do it, too.”
... he gets ready for every tournament by sitting in a Jacuzzi for 20 minutes and listening to a recording of “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor.
“I like to play tournaments because you can do that for $65 and play all day. I don’t like playing where it costs you $100, then you have to reach for another $100, then another $100. I can’t afford that. I’m on a pension. I just want to have fun.”
“I love the interaction. I love the human experience. I’ve told everyone, if you put me in a nursing home, put me by a pay phone. That way I can put a quarter in it, hang up and feel like I’ve won something.”
“I’ve kind of put my life on hold until I play this thing. When I get back, I’m going to have to find a real job.”

From reading the article, I find it hard to believe that these folks will make it past the 1st break or even figure out how to find their table. But I guess Jamie Gold, Varkonyi and Yang have won this thing so who knows.

Didn't you hear? This year you can buy in up to 50k if you want, and there is no minimum buy in. Whatever you have they'll be happy to take.

I survived day 1a brutal table draw with Allen, Elli, CK, and crazy lex. For the most part I just ducked out of the way and let Lex & Elli fire chips back and forth. 21K going into day two. I would imagine my table draw will be better for day two. Actually, I satelited in so picking up the sponsorship money on top of that means that I win even if I don't cash.
