Villain hasn't been doing anything crazy but has a hard time folding not getting the right price. What else could he have, right?Almost raised the turn but he laid me a great price to straight up outdraw him and he's never folding anything that I want him to fold (I don't want a worse set to go out and the nuts aren't folding).

His betting line seems very odd for the nuts. Why would he make such a small turn bet but then make a much larger river bet on a blank card? Flop and turn looks like he's trying not to scare you off with the min check-raise and then tiny turn bet, but then throws out a 2/3 pot bet on the river that you're much less likely to call? Is it possible this could be KK/QQ or even KQ?

I'd say the small turn bet is there to incite a raise (EDIT: I originally wrote reraise, but I guess it'd be a mere raise), with that many outs the call there is correct, as is the fold on the river.

KQ isn't likely. KK and QQ are likely, but are they likely enough against your semi-standard 10plo player to make this a profitable call?

You could be right. But then why fire a 2/3 pot bet on the river, which is much more likely to induce a fold, after leading for 1/4 pot on the turn? If he does have the nuts, why not make a much smaller river bet in the hopes of getting at least a call? It's the comparison of the river bet to the turn bet that confuses me.

ThisWhy would villain give such a great price for the draws to draw? You're line indicates that you're on the draw. Your hand is under-repped and I do think villain shows up with KK QQ here enough to be profitable. The fact that you're playing 3 handed and on the button makes this a call for me. You're button raising range is probably pretty wide, so villains bb defense range is wide as well. I don't see a competant player playing JT this way. I agree with jmbreslin that JT would almost have to bet less on the river to induce a call from AK AA KK QQ, etc...

i'd call and expect to see random two pairs + gutters, kk, JJXx and JT here.
JJxx? Why would he ever have that.

weak players do this all the time with the nuts, its a note i have on a ton of players.

thinking he has two blockers to the straight.
So he thinks he can bluff me off of a set? That's pretty high level thinking for a 10plo game lolz.

poor players often hear about something that sounds like a neat idea to them and then misuse it.

at this limit i just have to assume it was a weird misplay trying to value bet turn to set up the river bet. Good thinking thou that bet on turn looks like it was designed to get repopped because the flop was sssooo good u had to have a pretty good hand. what does everyone else think about it?
