ok, lets try.Akishore: preflop, decent hand heads up, call the raise.Flop: With a called raise, raise into wiley attempting to represent one of the cards on board and hoping Wiley didn't hit.Turn: Bet the Scary board, knowing Wiley will be hard pressed to call without a King or 9.River: Still following up with the bluff I suppose. If Wiley had the straight on the turn, he would have raised, so you can only assume he either missed a straight draw, or missed a flush draw, or still has a pair that he might fold to a bet. He raises, you have to fold.Wiley: Preflop raise: mixing up your game I guess :PFlop: odd call. Perhaps not wanting to seem weak this early in a heads up match.Turn: Open Ender, calls to see river.River: Misses straight, recognizes steal attempts I guess, raises and wins pot, nice play.

wily raises $0.10, akishore calls.i had noticed that wily often doubled the blinds with suited rags or fun hands (krablar and the like) as a way to mix up the play, and also since i folded a good amount to his pre-flop min-raises. this time, i decided to call.flop: A

($0.40)akishore bets $0.15, wily calls.as i mentioned in another thread, i hate betting pot in PL HE--it's one of my biggest pet peeves. wily understands this, so as a result, the tempo of this game was fairly slow (yet still aggressive). it wasn't uncommon at all for me to bet 1/4 of the pot with top pair, simply for value. we're both heavy limit players, so we're okay with the other person having pot odds sometimes; there are other ways of protecting your hand (betting small knowing that your opponent will raise so that you can reraise; waiting for the turn to checkraise; etc.).so when the flop came all high cards, i felt that it didn't hit his rags. so, i decided to bet out somewhat weakly representing a somewhat strong hand aiming to get value from wily. he called, but i wasn't too worried about the call--wily often liked to peel one off after the flop and then consider folding more seriously on the turn (it's a limit habit).turn: Q
($0.70)akishore bets $0.35, wily calls.continuation bluff on my part, but notice what an interesting turn it is. i could have chosen to bet higher or lower. if i bet near pot sized, i felt that i might get raised since it looked too much like the turn scared me and i was trying more desperately to protect a vulnerable hand. if i bet lower, it might seem like i was weak and i might get raised because of that. although i could reraise in either situation since i felt that wily might raise, i didn't want to risk too many chips on a big reraise, and i felt that a 1/2-pot bet might do the trick if wily didn't hit the flop (including the flush draw, any straight draw, or any pair).wily's actions were brilliant here, however. he read me 100% correctly that i was reading him for a missed flop and so i was bluffing, and he set up a very nicely done delayed bluff. he had seen that i would often bluff but give it up immediately in the response of aggression (since i had been more loose/aggressive than he had so far, and since he had been a sheriff [calling me down] quite often), so instead of raise me on the flop or turn (where not only was he unsure of what i held, but where he wouldn't get enough value from calling down my bluffs), he waited to raise. normally, wily doesn't wait past the turn to raise when he has a hand, but often, he will check-call marginal hands down in both limit and PL against aggressive betting from me, and i was slightly worried that this might be the case.regardless, he represented that type of marginal check-calling situation down perfectly, and this delayed bluff was effective.river: 2
($1.40)akishore bets $0.60, wily raises $1.75, akishore folds.so i decide the river is useless, so even if he called me on the turn with a draw, i have a final chance at taking down the pot. however, i didn't want to bet too aggressively since wily might see through that and come over the top, so i kept my bet still somewhat small to symbolize value. he then raised me a good amount, and i realized that i was either slowplayed or delayed bluff.i actually felt that he was bluffing me since the raise was so aggressive (if he had the flush or the straight, there's no way he would bet that hard), but my 6-high would almost never beat a bluff, and i didn't want to risk any more chips in coming over the top (though i kind of felt that a reraise might take it down). i thought for a while, debating between folding and reraising, and eventually showed him my 6-high and folded. he laughed and showed me his 9-high, and we were both stunned.quite an interesting higher-level thinking hand.aseem
