Live event here in Madison. I had been off to a nice start, hit two sets and was at about 2000, which was about average. My problem was, due to the fact that seating is open, and I was the second one to sit at my table, not one, but two very good players were on my left. And, after I busted the guy three to my left, ANOTHER tough player on my left. ARGH. Now these guys didn't always have great hands when they won, but they were clearly above my skill level. Here's the hand. I'm SB, villian is BB. There were a couple of limpers, and I just completed with my 55. (about my 7th small pair of the evening lol), Villain makes it 300. It's folded to me. I probably made a mistake and just called. Flop is 10-2-2 with two spades.I probably made another mistake, and I checked. He bet 400 and I folded.Thoughts? Oh, and I would be willing to bet 10 dollars on Full Tilt that no one can guess his exact hand. PM me if you want this side action :D
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Well... you should have raised pre-flop heads-up against the BB, and ya definitely would have wanted to bet into him after the flop, but you know that.Considering ya didn't bet into him, I think the fold was fine. It was a relatively small pot anyway. I think it's always better to try to avoid playing against the very good players unless you've got a solid hand... at least early on in a tourney. If he had Brunson's 10-2, I'd get a chuckle. Not worth the bet though...

Nope...it wasn't 10-2There were limpers, so I didn't raise itI had way too many small pairs, should have raised a couple of em, and got burned when I tried to raise with my next pair of 55
