Hey there, i'm new here and i love poker. I used to think the game was dumb but started playing and fell in love with it. I don't even care about the money part i just love this game. I really loved chess but wasn't too good at it, but poker i think i'm finding my niche. I've been playing now for 3yrs and i have to say my biggest weakness is letting guys get under my skin. Y'know who i mean,,, the talkers. Whats worse is when a talker gets lucky when the percentages are against him and he hits it. I find my time is being spent trying not to get involved but sometimes you get caught up in it....

i guess my question is ... whats the best way to deal with this?

New to this site and i think Daniel is not just a pro, but a classy one.

today is the first day of the rest of my poker life !!

cheers,

im still not sold that many of these people that get these big online scores are winners when it comes to the live game, which, by the way, is real poker.

Quite honestly, I hadn't either until i typed it, and didn't even realize that until you quoted......hmmm, might have to put a claim in for this...like pat riley and the word "three-peat". MSP will now be the owner of the written term blow-j.

Train yourself to ignore them. When ever they say anything to you just smile and continue to play your game. Eventually it will make them crazy that they can't rattle you and start over reacting.

Uhm no the term is from Superbad, so all rights and properties are in direct correlation to them. Actually i think you owe the producers $5 just for using it.
There was madness in any direction, at any hour…You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning…. And that, I think, was the handle-that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn’t need that. Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting-on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave….So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark-that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.

This is correct. If someone is trying to rattle you and you show no reaction, it ends up rattling them. So smile, and just concentrate on playing good poker.
