I was in a live casino tourney last week, 110 entries, about halfway through, 5 tables left, I am on the button, and I look down at QQ. 11 players at the table.Blinds are 100/200 my stack is around 3200. Blinds raise every 15 minutes, so if you get a run of dry cards, you are in trouble.UTG raises about 3xBB, one other player raises all in to about 1800, another player raises all in to 2500, 2 other players call the 2500.Now, my chances of winning here must be pretty small. However, in hindsight, I have to consider what I am up against here. Obviously if I am going in I will raise all in and I will likely be in a race against 5 other players. I didn't have any reads as I'd just sat down at the table, but the whole tourney was played fairly loosely, but generally not retardedly so (ie, I wasn't going to be in against 35s or anything) so, obviously, if anyone has AA or KK, I'm screwed. Anyone else calling I have to put on either smaller pocket pairs, or high cards. If 3 of the five are on high cards, that has to lower the percentage that high cards are going to come on the flop, and I'll take my chances on the underpairs.Is it worth the chance here that nobody has AA or KK, considering if I t ake this hand down I would probably be chip leader of the tournament?Ultimately, I didn't think it through for long and mucked the QQ. the 5 hands that were in were: JJ A9s A8s, KQo, and 9Ts, the flop, turn and river were all 8 or lower, no flushes, no straights, and the JJ took it down.Was I foolish? or was my fold justified.

Your fold is only justified if the tournament structure has the blinds escalating at a much slower rate, like many bigger tournaments.Since the blinds are gonna escalate every 15 minutes and you only have ~15 BB at this point to begin with, I think this is an easy push.
