What an awful gamble. You're giving away a huge edge on the best years of your life for the reward of a little (false) job security, a dental plan, and a pension that you're not even sure if it will be enough to allow you to retire. Heck, will it even be there? Who's exactly gambling? I see your bullsh*t that you've been told by your parents, and raise you my lifetime of happiness (STRING RAISE!). -OTD

Daniel, one of the things you taught on poker VT is there are times to step back and take a break from poker. This is your time Daniel. Go home to Toronto. Be with your mother and family. You need that time with them. You need to take care of your family first . Poker will always be there. Best wishes, my prayers are with your family. May you find your peace.

I love the game of poker for the competition, the psychology, the never-ending quest to improve, the advanced and sometimes minute complexities not everyone sees when they play, and the enjoyment of succeeding after giving all your energy to reach a goal that may at first seem unattainable but that you find a way to make it possible.

Life is a journey. Stay strong and know that there is a plan for everyone. These times come for all of us, though I know that doesn't make it hurt any less. Unfortuantely it's unavoidable. Keep your heart so full of loving memories of your mother, that there is no room for hate and blame. Make the most of the time that you have left, and keep the faith.Best Wishes DN,Cole
