I thought I had gotten to the point where a bad beat couldn't set me off... but I've pretty much been thinking about this one for 24 hours straight and still can't get it out of my head. This was an actual brick-and-mortar sit-and-go so there is no "converter" for you.Down to the final three with me as the chip leader. I'm on the button and get dealt K :) , Q :D UTG and double the big blind. SB folds. BB calls.Flop comes K :) -x-x (the other two are irrelevant to the story.) BB checks, I bet 2xBB. BB comes over the top all-in. I have the BB covered (barely) and call. As soon as I utter the word "call" he says: "Damn, I'm dead..." and flips over 9 :D -2 :club: . There are no straight draws on the board... no flush draws... and he hasn't gotten so much as a sniff of the flop.Turn = 9.River = 2.Completely and totally demoralizing. There was a rush of hushed "Oh my God"s and "That's Horrible"s from around the table. I just sat there staring at the table in utter disbelief. Finishing the hand would have knocked out the 2nd biggest stack and left me about 4.5 to 1 in chips for heads up. Instead, I was completely decimated and when I get dealt 8-3 in the big blind the very next hand, I was done.In retrospect, I probably should've come out firing a little harder pre-flop... maybe 3x or even 4x the big blind. But other than that, WTF??? 2-9 offsuit? Seriously???? p2

Yeah, raise to about 4x preflop. And with that flop, he probably thought1) Both of my cards are live2) He can't call my reraise
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Yeah, that's definitely my one regret about that hand... although honestly, I wasn't against taking him along. K-Q is a pretty good hand 3-handed and if I hit my flop, the hope was I could do some major damage to the guy who was essentially even with me chip-wise. Good plan, huh? :D As for his thoughts, I guarantee you (knowing a bit about his play) that he thought his cards were live... but I'm a little baffled about why he'd be so sure I wouldn't call his reraise all in. I had raised pre-flop and then raised into him post-flop. Sure, he could've pegged me for A-x without hitting the board... but wouldn't it be equally likely that I at LEAST had a pocket pair that would put him in big trouble? I don't know, it's still giving me nightmares... p2
