Pokernews Crosshairs On Negreanu?

Recommended Posts

Unusual that PokerNews allows this sort of character assasination. Here is the article link:www.pokernews.com/news/2009/02/poker-gossip-negreanu-micro-stakes-1066.htm :club: Like most of the people on this forum, I keep a reasonable eye on the poker ups and downs of Daniel. I am not as 'in tune' with Daniel's online playing record as some people, but as far as I know, Daniel has not dropped a few million dollars online, and only that sort of loss could be considered serious, from a business point of view.I know a lot of business guys that have gone through some rough patches (I have) and generally speaking you do not become a worse person because of it; you get stronger. So the whole tone of the article is 'poker envy'.So this article is just a cheap piece of character assasination :ts

The news in PokerNews should be in quotation marks! This story isn't news at all - It's one writer's rather misinformed opinion.Did he talk to Negreanu? Does he attribute these grand statements regarding his PokerStars contract or online stats to any trusted resource? If this is the kind of thing PokerNews prints on a regular basis I'm surprised they haven't been sued because it's bordering on libel and defamation.I hate to do this because it's going to start to look like I'm spamming, but I write news for PokerListings.com that doesn't require the quotations marks. When we want to find out what's going on with Negreanu, we call him and quote him in the stories, because that's what a real news website would do!Example:http://www.pokerlistings.com/rebuys-bad-he...alks-wsop-35998

http://www.pokerlistings.com/rebuys-bad-he...alks-wsop-35998You wrote that story Derby? Nice! I liked the facts, as opposed to the innuendo all over the pokernews article.Good poker players understand the value of "table image" in poker, but in today's world of endorsement deals and the critical importance of reputation, this sort of article needs to be addressed IMHO. :club: That said, it is not my call. It is up to DN. I just point out that the pokernews article looks and sounds bad.You should write an article on both daniel and Barry that puts the boot to this spurious piece of pseudo-journalism.
