brvheart 1,768
I'm a fairly big fan of his, considering I'm not really a hip-hop fan, and considering I'm not a democrat (which Marshall is). I just think he's a genius. This is a really well written story about him.EDIT: Link fixed.

dapokerbum 0
"I have one story that sums Em up," ventures a friend. "After his second album he was in the jewellery store. He really liked a watch, but was worried that he'd not be able to afford it, so called his manager, Paul Rosenberg, to check he had enough cash. The watch turned out to be $15,000. At the time, Em was one of the hottest artists on the planet. He was worth millions. So Paul told him not to be silly, and just buy the watch. That's awesome! Also, I have always loved the fact that he seems to be such an everyday person. Definitely one of my favorite artists. I am AMPED that there is finally a new album coming out!! El Guapo 10
The rapper Nas recently contended that hip-hop is dead. Critics say it has run out of steam, stopped evolving, and in common with the rest of the music industry, reached a point of commercial hopelessness and artistic stagnation.Josh can do you know what this is from? And when?Because I agree with it, and would like to see if it was just a quip or an actual interview.
Jadaki 1
amazing article. this album is going to have to be insane to leave up to the hype.I'm lucky, I haven't heard any of the hype dealing with it so I'm just looking forward to new material. One of the guys I work with has an old college roommate that works for Eminem now and backs up a bunch of that story about him just being in the studio constantly for years. If this album is indeed a cherry picking of 300 unreleased tracks polished by Dre, it should be phenomenal.
Jadaki 1
Josh can do you know what this is from? And when?A lot of interviews from Nas around the time of his Hip-Hop is Dead album being released where he discussed that to much of what passes for today as popular rap isn't representative of the how he looks at the artform and how he was hoping it would progress. I tend to agree, especially with the rise in popularity of southern hip-hop which is pretty much the worst sub genre of hip-hop ever.

TRB05 1
Apparently I completely misunderstood the song having only heard it a couple of times. Armageddon was the song I was thinking about, where he mispronounces several words like those southern rappers tend to do, so I took it the wrong way. Oops, sorry.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkizv7RZJxg
Arsenic 0
After an album like "ENCORE", what the **** can you possibly expect from Eminem? The man made amazing songs, his first 3 albums were classics and now he realizes he can fart on a track for 2 minutes and sell platinum the first week. He just really doesn't give a **** any more. If he wanted to shit on a track and release it to make money he doesn't need we would have seen CD's every 6 months for the last 5 years. He reportedly has over 300 tracks recorded that are not released, think about it.
keith crime 8
I don't think any great artist consciously puts out a bad album, but inevitably - it gets harder to do something new and you can't possibly have the same hunger as you did when you were brokeIf Dre's producing I'll always give enything Em releases a shot tho
