Bet Sizing Question

Obvious question but have you seen this guy 3bet much? Do you have any stats on his 3 bet %?

Unless you know this player to be very aggressive then 4 betting here is probably not the best of plays. What do you beat if he pops you all in? AK? His range is probably QQ+, AKs. Not a great range for JJ. And when he just cold calls, like he did, it puts you in a tough spot on how to proceed. Any bet you make pretty much commits you at this point and you really have no clue where you stand. His flat calling range is probably 99+, AQ+. Not the best of scenarios. I think flatting his 3 bet and proceeding from there is best.

I had seen him 3bet a couple of times, looking thru the stats now his 3bet percentage is 9.8.

The four bet is fine, but we may as well open shove the flop if this is going to be our line. I don't know what villain has that he is folding or that is worse if he is 3 betting about 10% of the time.

He did open shove. Our effective stack is only about $28.

If you're going to 4bet, then I think this is probably the perfect size, due to the stack sizes and the fact that you can shove for slightly under a PSB on the flop acting first. If we were deeper, then usually you want a 4bet to be slightly more than a minraise, to get value from worse hands calling or getting people to spaz shove worse. It would also allow us to get out cheaper if we are 4bet/folding (as we would probably have to do here if we were deeper).All that being said, I flat here. I don't play as much NL cash games here as a lot of other posters, but I just don't see people calling a 4bet w/99 or TT enough for this to be profitable. I'd probably get it in on a flop of unders and just hope he had AQ/AK, but would c/f to an A or K. A Qxx flop would make me timebank.As played, the flop shove is EZ poker. Pray to god he folds his QQ or KK.

The flop feels spewy. it looks like your straddling a line. Either check the flop or shove in. your preflop play might be a little aggressive with JJ and your position..

I'd much rather flat the 3 bet here than 4 bet against villain.My 4 bet size would normally be around $14-$16 here.

Thanks for the responses, I felt just after the hand that the 4 bet was a bit suicidal if it got called or raised I was crushed. Villian folded flop so I guess we'll never know for sure what he had but only hand that I think fits would be QQ or the other JJ as I think he would have shoved KK pre and wouldnt fold any aces on the flop.
