My First Hand Analysis. Qq In Early Stages.

Recommended Posts

This is my first hand analysis. Anyway, it's still kind of early and a lot of people have been limping in and calling small raises. I don't really have too much of a read on either the raiser or the caller. I'm thinking my preflop raise was a little too high, but I'm posting to see if there was a better avenue for this hand.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00+$0.20 Tournament, 15/30 Blinds (9 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com640914.gifMP2 (t1415)ThePolkaMan (MP3) (t1835)CO (t1020)Button (t1640)SB (t1420)BB (t1550)UTG (t1470)UTG+1 (t1410)MP1 (t1740)ThePolkaMan's M: 40.78640914.gifPreflop: ThePolkaMan is MP3 with Q :4h, Q :club:1 fold, UTG+1 raises to t90, MP1 calls t90, 1 fold, ThePolkaMan raises to t300, 5 folds, MP1 calls t210Flop: (t735) 8 :3h, 10 :qh, 7 :D(2 players)MP1 checks, ThePolkaMan bets t420, 1 foldTotal pot: t735Results in white below: ThePolkaMan didn't show Q :5c, Q :ts (nothing).Outcome: ThePolkaMan won t735

Well played--I actually thought both your preflop raise and flop bet were just right. I'd suggest though that next time you post a hand, you leave us in the dark at a little earlier point. Like you could in your OP stop at "Hero...?" for discussion of how much to raise (or for that matter, someone could say just to smooth call though it sure wouldn't be my preference). Then after a little discussion of that, leave off at the flop decision as to how much to bet...etc.
