antistuff 0
even if you thought that MP was very passive with the small blind calling two like that i have to go for another bet on the flop. my default thinking on hands like this is1) if the flop gets capped and somebody else put in the last bet ill just call down.2) if i cap the flop and get raised on the turn ill just call down from that.3) sometimes i will forgo an extra bet on the flop in order to raise or check raise the turn. they need to be fairly aggressive for me to do this. if this bet gets raised i'll call down from that. 4) the presence of other players in the hand calling bets (presumably drawing to something) gives more wiggle room to put in extra bets, as you don't need to be ahead as often. Balloon guy 158
Initially on flop I felt getting 2 callers was better than isolating. Then plan was to C/R river, but the 10 was a card that both of them could be playing and I got gun shy figuring only hands that have me beat call my C/RSo you guys feel this is too passive and I missed bet if I have best hand? Balloon guy 158
I think you are right that a C/R on the turn is correct play, let myself get gunshy and afraid of AQ, which I shouldn't haveOr defined it better on the flop.As it was Seat one had AJOther guy had A9guess I lost a couple of betsI wanted to maximize value with AK and instead lost value

That could be a big issue as to getting full value from your hands as well as balancing your bluffs and semi-bluffs. This is a bit of a tangent here, but the more thinly you are able to value bet (and this is almost entirely a function of your hand reading skills), the more difficult you will be to play against. Thin value betting/raising has a number of benefits to your holistic, balanced game. 1. People will adjust poorly and call you down in spots that they shouldn't. 2. Since your ranges will contain more value hands, you can profitably add more bluffs to your range. 3. People will be afraid to value bet against you as they will be afraid of thin value raises. And 4. Since you will be able to squeeze all the value out of your hands, you can both raise and defend with wider ranges because you will be able to profit with more and more hands. In short, post in the LHE challenge thread and we will holistically reform you game. Balloon guy 158
I'm generally more aggressive than this HH shows. And the B/C on the flop is pretty standard for me to get a the C/R on the turn. Mainly because I Cbet most times oop and check fold often on the turn when I hit air. I try to either create a weak image, or a crazy image to get action on my bigger hands. On the river I was thinking, no jack no queen no ten and no nine. All cards I thought could beat meI just didn't recognize this was a bigger hand
antistuff 0
i agree with your analysis of bad cards on the river. Mainly because I Cbet most times oop and check fold often on the turn when I hit air.i would watch out with this as that pattern can be pretty exploitable. figure a flop like 46t and you have AQ. you raise from utg and get one caller. you bet and he calls. most players are going to peel with their entire range on a flop like that. if its a flop that you would have called with almost anything that you could have had and the turn comes pretty innocuous you should consider betting again depending on your opponent.
